Man does not live on bread alone but upon every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
God is love.
When we see acts of love it is for us like sunshine on a leaf.

Yes it is very true that our souls need to be fed, although that is not the only reason why we pray... Going to church or reading the Bible are all sources of food for the soul. Once you have realized that what the minister said on Sunday, really touched you and made you want to do something then you have given your soul the food it needs for a period of time........ (our souls need to be fed REGULARLY)
The reason we pray is simple: We talk to our Heavenly Father and ask Him what we want to ask Him and we thank Him for all His wonderful blessings....
Hope it help a little

Yes, that is how we feed our soul. Our soul hungers, desires to be with our Lord. When we read the Bible or Meditate or enter into deep prayer, the soul is nourished by the healing waters of our Savior's grace.
We pray because we asked Jesus to teach us how to pray and he said "Our Father...." Take that prayer, word by word, slowly...line by line... think about it...really think about it... "Our Father".....Majesty, Protector... "who art in Heaven"... where is heaven? Where does he reside?
It may take you an hour to get through the prayer and then listen to the answers you receive. Ask the "Helper", the Holy Spirit to help you before you begin...and don't move from the word or the line that you are pondering until you are ready....
It is a wonderful way to feed the soul.
Benedicite and good luck!

We pray to connect to our Higher Selves i.e the at the soul level. You constitute a body, mind (ego) and spirit (soul) and all need to work in agreement in order for you to be at ease (healthy).
So how do you feed the soul?Prayer is one of the things people do to achieve that .Listening to soulfull music, meditating etc and all other rituals that focuses attention within in order to achieve oneness with the All that is which is God .

Yes we pray and study the Word of God to feed our spirits, just as we feed our physical bodies with food.

The soul needs nothing at all. We pray because we feel lost but our soul remains the same

Scripture says "Renew your minds" the mind is the soulish realm. We must renew our minds and stop thinking in the ways of the world system. We need to think according to God's system. A system of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
We need to feed our spirit man. How? By reading, studying and meditating on the Word of God. By prayer. By praise and worship.

Our soul is fed as we speak to God in prayer, as we meet with others of like faith in meetings, study God's word...anything to get us closer to God and to better understand his way is the best way to feed our souls. And they must be fed, you are right!

Yes. We are all interconnected and there has to be a source, GOD!
We pray because we know we should.
That's how father God through mother nature reminds us that they are still here. That we are just reflections of Love.
Whether we choose to reflect Love or not our actions will have concequences.

You are subtly ruining the context of the question by inserting a pseudo-scientific inquisition. The question is not about "Religion" its about Soul and we know religion is different from spirituality but you give this a Religous undercurrent sheeesh. :P
