Loving God is more important but Loving your neighbor is more visible. God requires that we do both in order to get into heaven based on the Law. It is impossible to do. This is why he send Jesus Christ to Fulfill the requirements of the Law on our behalf. This is the essence of the Gospel. Everything that God's Law Requires Christ Fulfilled.

People need to understand that all begins with the feelings we cultivate for our selves. If I don’t love my self how am I suppose to love God/Goddess let alone my neighbour? The degree of love I have for my self is the degree of love I have for God and all that’s been created by Him.
That is why Jesus persisted on the importance of the pure heart (the centre of emotions and desires- Mat 18:18-20). If a heart is not pure as a result of wicked desires the entire being is dark and polluted.
How can love spring from a wicked heart?
I am of no religion, as I believe religion divides rather than unites.

They are both important but you must first love God above all with all your Heart, for it is the first and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:37-38 and second you must love your neighbor as yourself, because you can't love God and hate your neighbor. 1 John 4:20-21
I belong to no religion, but I believe in God (my Heavenly Father) and His Words and I believe Jesus to be my Lord and Savior.

Love your God...God is above EVERYTHING else and should come before anything else. Jesus said the first commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart. He said the SECOND is like it, to love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus specifically placed God first.

Both are important, but the second is not possible without the first. If you really love God you will naturally love all living entities which are His part and parcels. It is like watering the roots of a tree - it automatically nourishes the trunk the branches, the twigs and the leaves.

i'm a muslim..
well, i have to say that ur question is like saying, when u love ur God, u hate ur neighbour OR if u love ur neighbour then u would hate God.. and it's 100% WRONG..
there is a saying, kinda close to this question from our prophet that says: the person who doesn't thank the creature, hasn't thanked the God. ( i'm not sure if i've translated it correctly; but i guess u got what i said)
if u had questions, contact me : milad_pcm@yahoo.com

Christ told us to love our neighbor. To do so you must already have love and as God literally is love the question becomes one of acknowledging His Existence which results in the conscious awareness of love as a substance which comes from Him.

Loving God and loving neighbor is only one, if you see your God in your neigbhor then you can love them both equally as one simple entity.
God created man man made religion, man needs no religion to love God and neighbor.

The spirit of God being in everyone would suggest that I love my neighbour. God lives in all of us as the higher self.

I am a born again baptist.
the 1st commandment tells us to love the Lord with all our heart & mind & soul.it is the most important. Out God, He is a "jealous God," Hebrews.
If we keep the 1st & 2nd commandment, the rest of them would be easy, for we would not covet, we would not steal, we would not bear false witness,,,etc...because we love our God & we love our neighbor as ourselves.
