Could be related to a pulled muscle, I've had it happen to me before. I would recommend letting your mom know as well and also your doctor to have them evaluate the situation further to see what they think is going on.

For me when my neck hurts I do a lot of stretches. Sometimes I get into a hot bath and every couple minutes I lean forward and touch my toes and hold for as long as your okay with. I notice that I am able to do a deeper stretch each time and the tension in my neck decreases oir goes away. You dont have to take a bath to do this stretch, but I do think the heat helps. By stretching your legs as well as your arms it can release some of the discomfort. Also, A topical cream for pain helps. Any drug store has them. One brand is Icy Hot.

Accident lately, anything that caused you to tense up and then be jolted?.. Or just any kind of jolt in general lately?... If you where in a accident 2 days ago then there is your answer.

stretch your neck and just lay back and rest it. maybe you got some sort of cramp or bone ache. maybe a nice hot shower will give you some blood flow to that area
