Firstly, Muslims in India were theoretically all supposed to leave India in 1947 when partition took place. They stayed in India, knowing very well that they would be living in a Hindu majority country and one which was to be a western styled secular democracy with political, social and economic freedoms for its citizens.
So why, then, do they feel they have a right to issue fatwas, pass religious death sentences and take the law into the their own hands. When India already has its own established legal constitution which each and every Indian (irrespective of religion) is subject to, who the hell gives them the right to undermine the Indian constitution and pass death sentences and undertake what they perceive to be their own perverted view of Justice???
Do You Agree That The Indian Government Should Promulgate Official and Formal Legislation, Making It A Crime For Any Imam And Any Muslim Organisation To Issue Fatwas???
Anyone found guilty of this, should be penalised.

Dear "Good Heart", not only do I believe that imams have no power, but I also believe that they, along with you, have NO RIGHT to be living in India. Y'all were ALL supposed to leave india in 1947. Your status should be that of "foreigners".

Catalyst,
The purpose if partition WAS so that The Muslims of the sub continent could have Pakistan and Bangladesh to live in and they can allow the Hindus to live peacefully in India. After robbing us of land that had belonged to us for millenia, do you honestly think that Muslims have any moral right to be living in India? Thus it was tacitly assumed that Rump India was to be a Muslim free country. There may be Hindus in Pakistan, but at least they are not the world's second largest Hindu population! Most of the Hindus that were in Pakistan ended up coming to India in body bags and piled up on trains.
Secondly, there is a difference between free speech and calling for someone's blood with the belief that some nutter Muslim will actually go and murder. When your fat mullahs issue fatwas, it is not them saying "Oh, I wish that person was dead", it is them saying "I am commanding one of y'all to go and kill that person". If they want to live like that, they should emigrate.

Dear Catalyst. Two points that I wanna make:
1. In regards to the whole India and Pakistan state controversy, let's just agree to disagree because what you are doing, like all the unwanted Muslims in India do, is to put a negative spin on the matter. You are implying that Pakistan was made solely for the purpose of the Muslims of the sub continent but it was their decision whether or not to leave. That is B.S. For example, If I were eating from your plate and as a result you took food out of your plate and put it on a seperate plate for me to eat, and then despite that I was still eating from your plate - c'mon dude would you not get p1ssed off???
Secondly, the land that Pakistan has been built on has belonged to Hinduism for thousands upon thousands of years. You guys are now Muslim but you are all from a Hindu ancestory. Today if you are Muslim, it is only because your ancestors were not strong enough to defend themselves from the likes of Nader Shah and Bin Kassim.

Islam is a religion that is only 2000 years old and has only been in Asia for 1000 years. Whereas you guys (Asians) have been around for over 10 000 years. Your civilisation has been Hindu much longer than it has been Muslim. When your history is viewed in the wider context, you guys have only been Muslim relatively recently. The truth is that after the British came in, all of you should have come back to Hinduism because you were only forced to become Muslim in the first place and when the Mughals collapsed, there was no longer any incentive for you to remain Muslim. But instead you chose to betray your religion (which had nurtured you for over 10 000 years) and chose to adopt a foreign Arab religion. Arabs - the same people that look down on y'all as being third rate Muslim. And then you pakistanis have the audacity to call "us" backtabbers - something which I find hilarious. LOL.

Finally, if it is true that we can't lay any claim to the land that Pakistan and Bangladesh is built on, because we did not "create" the world, then try telling that to a Palestinian who has been robbed of land. Tell them that they didn't invent the world so they can't claim that land as their own.

Catalyst, Dude, Buddy. I am REALLY starting to enjoy having this discussion with you. LOL. Because, like all Muslims, I can see that you are getting annoyed with me speaking the bitter truth. What’s wrong man, the truth hurts doesn’t it. Why did you say that I ought to have left the “conversion” of Muslims out of it??? That is related to the topic after all. Let us not beat around the bush but have a frank, open and completely honest discussion. In response to your response:
Islam may be believed by Muslims to be a religion that is needed for the whole world, by then so does every religion. Christians, Jews, Hindus all believe that their spiritual path is the best for mankind. The only difference is that Hindus don’t market their religion like it is a business product and their ancestors haven’t beaten other civilisations into subjugating to Islam (cough cough). When I said that Islam was a foreign religion, I mean in the sense that it’s roots are Arabian and NOT Asian.

The caste system (which is the most miss-understood) has NOTHING to do with Hinduism. It has no sanction in the Hindu scriptures and caste based discrimination itself is antithetical to the fundamental tenets of Hinduism itself. The caste system was not a product of Hinduism but a product of Indian society that arose thousands of years after Hinduism was flourishing. Practicing Hindus or those that once “did” Practice Hinduism (I.e. your ancestors) would have known that. Even if you speak to a so called “lower caste” person that they can tell you that the caste system has NOTHING to do with Hinduism. If so many people perceive the caste system to be a Hindu phenomenon, that is only due to bad publicity that Islam and Christianity (2 of the wealthiest religions) have deliberately funded and propagated. So please, brother, don’t give me that B.S. about the caste system being responsible for driving away millions of Hindus towards Islam.

The bitter truth is that you Muslims must try and justify your betrayal (to the religion that nurtured you for over 10 000 years) somehow and you must conceal the fact that you were forced into Islam somehow, so y’all always use the excuse of the caste system. C’mon dude, deep down do you honestly think that the invading Muslim armies sat there and conducted tutorials about what a beautiful religion Islam was??? They pretty much said either convert or be killed. They would even construct massive mountains of skulls in order to create fear among the rest of the Hindu population and thus encourage people to convert out of fear. Islam is a religion with ONE main bible. Hinduism is a religion with 55 main bibles. . In terms of it’s content, Hinduism is actually bigger than all three Abraham religions combined. Moreover, everything that Islam teaches can be found somewhere in these 55 Hindu bibles. Hence the argument that Hindus converted to Islam because Islam was more...

...sophisticated than Hinduism or that Islam gave them something which Hinduism could not give is seriously flawed. Also, you Muslims have tried your best to re-write Indian history in order to lie that Indians were barbaric before the arrival of Islam and that Islam somehow “made” India, which I find to be nothing but cheap fiction. Indian society was actually far more developed, advanced and sophisticated before the arrival of Islam than what it became after. We call it the “Vedic golden age” and Indians were extremely bright and intellectual. Just like Zoroastrian Persia was never the same after it converted to Islam, neither was Pakistani/North Indian society. One needs only to read the accounts left by Nader Shah, Bin Kassim, Babar and Aurangzeb where they clearly talk about destroying temples, raping women, burning alive priests, in order for the Hindus to convert. So I really don’t understand why you Muslims keep deluding yourselves into believing that your ancestors...

...converted due to their own free will, when all the evidence points to the fact that they only converted in order to save their necks. I don’t think that you Pakistanis appreciate the humiliation that your ancestors had to endure in order for y’all to be Muslim. Just face it, you are ONLY Muslim because your ancestors had their ar*es kicked. As for “Indian Muslims” (it makes me sick having to even associate the name “Indian” with the name “Muslim”) and Bangladeshis, they betrayed their religion and converted to Islam in order to enjoy economic benefits This was the sole purpose of the tax that non-Muslims had to pay. They were to be taxed beyond proportion so that they can convert.
As for the mughal architecture, I think that after India became independent in 1947 every single mosque and other crappy thing that had been built by Mughals should have been destroyed. As for the Taj Mahal, it is a myth that Shah Jahan had built it. It was actually a Hindu temple that the Mughals

Oh and one final thing, did you know that the biggest genocide undertaken in the entire history of human civilisation was that which Islam committed against Hinduism??? The murder of over 100 million Hindus across the tenure of Mughal oppression. Then after that, these Muslims have still have the shame to live in our country.

Who recognises the fatwas ? it is only the miusguided muslims and ther is no legal sanction for them .it is like the dictats of the criminal gangs which the members of he paticlar criminal gang alsone respect .
no body needs any spoecial sanction or atuhority to issue fatwas .If yu have money and men power ,you can also issue a fatwa aginst somebody you do not want .
since thefatwas are issued by some cleric thugh without any sanction in accordance with the practices of the religons thay belong to , it cannnot be acted aginst by the 'government unless and untill somebody acts in acccordance with it and commits a criminal offence . ?When some boy commits an offence inresponse to the fatwa then the one who issued the fatwa and the one who carried out the fatwa will ve liable to punishment under the IPC ..

Not only India! These dam people go on Issuing Fatwas all over the world. They think that they are the rulers of the universe and have the right to Fatwa anybody. and declare jihad.
These people should be eliminated in toto from all the countries in this world and sent to a isolated island(totally marooned). They should not be allowed to leave this place at any cost. They should grow their own food and make all the necessary arrangements for their living themselves.
Now they can go on issuing fatwas and do any number of jihads in that continent of theirs. Even if one damm person tries to leave that place should be shot dead without warning and as a punishment another 100 people from that continent should be shot dead to teach them a lesson.
This is the anly way to control these people. Because this the only language they understand. Their motto is 'Die and dont let others live'

I would have to say yes, that the goverment has the right to do something if someone dies as a result of issuing a fatwa. As to issuing them, well, that is a different matter. Free speech is free speech. Here in America, if someone says someone should die, say some cult issues an edict little could be done. But were that person were to be killed, then the cult leader can be held accountable for murder. Perhaps that is how it should be there.

If India is a true democracy than every individual has the right to speak whats on his mind. And fatwa is one such thing. Besides instead of banning people of speaking out like this we should educate the youth to not to listen to these foolish fatwas .. if people start ignoring these things the fatwas will die a natural death.
To me the solution thus lies not in banning the fatwas forcefully but by education of masses.

You are right in a way that they have no right to issue such fatwas. But this situation is likely to continue till the vote bank politics is alive in India. Since they claimed and received a soverain state in the name of religion, their voting rights should have been withdrawn in 1947 itself, though permitted to live in India.
In present situation it is not possible but if a semi dictatership is made the reigning form of government, discarding the need of voting system altogather, their temerity to issue fatwas would vanish as Dodo.
