Can you get pink rice?

yes i once saw pink rice when i had a lunch with my vietnamese friends at a thai restaurant.

there are pink colored spicy sauce and brown colored sweet sauce on each table.
we got a white rice and soup.
then, those vietnamese ppl grabbed the spicy sauce and pour it on rice.
they mixed the sauce with rice and yes it looked like pink rice and soggy!!!

You cant get pink rice naturally. all rice is actually a bright green when cropped. The whites and browns were used to seeing come from there preparation. White rice goes through a bleaching process. The very bright green doesn't look to appetising.. There's golden rice but this is a genetically engineered rice. The reason was to provide vitaminA essential for children, in poverty stricken areas in Asia. It was also seen as a process to gain confidence and open the door for gm foods under better light. golden rice is now in its second generation updated in 2005.

I've never seen pink rice unless its a wild variety - but the answer above is correct - food colouring would do it!!

yes cook the rice with beats and rice will come out pink. use whole grain brown rice it is healthier than white rice it will still come out pink.

You can get multicoloured rice in Asian shops, but to get pink only you could put a few drops of conchineal food colouring (natural dye) in. However, I have one question. WHY???

use pink colouring and you will have pink rice.

if you put some food coloring in the water when you cook it it will turn out pink.
