So Im russian and I speak fluent russian...for now. I can read but with great difficulty...and grammer....dont even ask. When I talk to my parents I can tell that I choose english words over russian ones and I need a way/tips on how to enchance my russian skills and keep my language alive. I know reading more is one, but Im so damn lazy and I also listen to some, select few russian bands.
Help?!

Not just read. WRITE in Russian! Read is quiet pasive thing. If you put yourself into writing, it'll need more of your skills with the language. You could start a blog in Russian, for example. That way you culd get feedback from other Russian speakers.

You can't be lazy. That's all. Every day you have to do something! And reading is the best. There's lots of stuff on the internet, news, internet tv, etc. Maybe there's Yahoo Answers in Russian? Where do you live, anyway? Maybe you can find people who want to learn Russian and teach them. That would surely keep you on your toes!

Keep it alive, no matter what you do. I am in the same boat, our Irish language is dying too. There are plenty of ways to enhance your language- CD ROM language suites, watching your own language on television helps rekindle some lost words, have you tried going on a few Russian websites to improve your literacy on the subject?
Just doing these for around half an hour a day will help, believe me!

Of course practice is the main thing during learning language. That's because i'm here, in Yahoo. I learn english and I have not real interlocutor, but i communicate on-line and already almost know english. And of course listening russian bands (and certainly translating of songs), watching films, etc will help you very much! You should to enjoy by this process, it must be not like boring lesson.
