Tom Baker did it for longer than any of the others so he had a lot of time to establish his Doctor. David Tennant is excellent and I liked Christopher Ecclestone too but he didn't stay long enough. Sylvester McCoy was a thoughtful and somewhat introspective Doctor and did some lovely stuff. I like all of them and have every DVD available so far. I also have a Dalek bottle opener - it says "Exterminate!" when you lift the cap off a bottle of beer.

Personally ... I think it was Tom Baker, although David Tennant is doing a very good job.
