Windows Media Player can be configured to rip to mp3. It will automatically fetch the file info from cddb.org

Yes Media player can be configured to rip to MP3 but how.
Well if you open Media Player and right clip the Rip button then click on format and choose MP3.
This box also offers an option menu which / where you can change things like automatic ripping on inserting a CD etc.
I m using Media Player 11 I hope this works on earlier versions

I use Winamp, swear by it. What i tend to do is copy my CDs with realplayer, and set the bitrate to 320kbps so that I get the highest quality possible. If you are connected to the internet, realplayer will find the names for you, so you don't have to type anything in. Then look through the Winamp library and allocate a source folder for Winamp to find your files, or drag and drop directly into the playlist from my music =oD

Get a CD ripper, try cdex.

cdex is very easy to use and works perfect, it uses cddb to identify the cd you're ripping so you don't have to type the song names etc.
