because we have so many stupid rules and so many multiple meanings of the same word and tons of different spellings for one word and weird pronouciations and basically everything. i thank god i was taught english from birth. it would be so hard if i hadnt been. oh also because we take alot of rules from other languages and then changed them a little so it isnt really the same rule

hahaha because us humans, being the lazy creatures we are, got tired of inventing and memorizing and recording new words, so we just re-used the old ones.
