Do you have a rash, headache, nausea or vomiting, stiff neck, or muscle aches? How severe are these symptoms and how long have you had them? How old are you? A high temp in an adult (nearing 101 degrees) can often signal a serious illness. The best thing to do is to call your local hospitals nurse hot line. Most hospitals have them, and the nurse answering the telephone can ask these questions and determine if you should stay home, or come to the hospital's emergency room or urgent care clinic. Meanwhile drink plenty of fluids to ward off dehydration. Children and teenagers should NEVER take aspirin to help lower fever. Aspirin is great for lowering fevers in adults, but children and teens run the risk of contracting Reye's Syndrome (a potentially fatal disease) by taking aspirin when ill. Plain Tylenol (the generic name is acetaminophen) is the drug of choice for kids to lower an elevated temperature, but too much Tylenol or acetaminophen, is very toxic to the liver. So never take more than the label indicates, and NEVER drink alcohol when taking Tylenol. I just saw your latest update: fever up, pounding headache. My advice - call your physician or the nurse hot line now and follow their advice. You need to be seen by a professional. I hope that you feel better soon!

The only bad thing a headache could be is meningitis. The number one symptom (besides a SEVERE - worst of your life headache at the back of your head), is neck stiffness. If it hurts to move your neck, I'd get checked out. Or, if you are feeling confused or mentally off (more than you would be if you were sick)

FYI: Meningitis can be viral (headache, sucks for days, but is harmless) or bacterial (the one you always hear about in the news) which causes confusion and sometimes death.

Victoria, i'm sorry to take heed to that there is slightly disrespect on your place---yet a 33 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous won't in any respect circulate out if mom is dottering and spoiling him---why ought to he circulate?? difficulty is he won't in any respect methods to peacefully co-exist with a woman on a mature point...what a shame. you're additionally witnessing slightly crude disrespectful habit that comes from being relatives and living at the same time all and sundry of those years. To an interloper this all sounds poor--to you and your brother it somewhat is barely many times happening living. So say no in case you are able to desire to--he won't explode or turn blue. relax, be cool, be super, and robust success-----SMILE

Any time you are in doubt, ask a medical authority, not just somebody out here in no-man's land. For Pete's sake, you could ask how to do brain surgery, and you'd have no way of knowing if the answer given was credible or not!

Call the hospital and ask the nurse on duty--especially if you are alone. If nothing else, it will help relieve your anxiety.

No.
Take some Advil, Tylenol or other pain reliever.
Drink some fluids.
Re-take your temp in an hour or so.

**Just checked back. I hope you called your MD as your fever went up and your headache didn't abate.

Feel Better!!!

I would recommend calling your doctor now if they have an after hours line to find out if your doctor is on call tonight to let them know what's going on now to see what they say.
