im looking for a new source, i do not live near a dealer for Cambridge or NAD so i can not demo. I know these are both great cd players and are quality. But i am asking for your opinion on what one has the edge over the other.

should i go with the Cambridge becuause it will match my amplifier, Azur 340A

Hi amani guy. As i have mentioned to you before i have the NAD T562 DVD/CD Player.Although it is really a DVD Player the playback quality of CDs is remarkably good.It sounds better than the Onkyo CD Player i had in 1993. I can't comment on the sound quality of the Cambridge CD Player you have in mind.because i have never listened to one. I imagine it would be up there with the best.I know my DVD Player has a warm lush quality to the sound, which some people might not like but at the same time it is not soft and mellow it is very dynamic at times.

Choosing a Source is a bit of a gamble. You don't know what it will do to the signal .Every piece of equipment degrades the signal to some degree. And as the Source is at the beginning of the component chain if we get it wrong then nothing else can fix it .So we try to buy the one that does not degrade it too much. .Music reproduction is a damage control job.I think either Player would do a good job.
