Depression can have an effect on your sexual performance and bad performance can increase your depression. Who told you your friends bro can last 45-50 minutes, and why do you believe them? Who's holding the stop watch? The majority of those kind of claims are over inflated to build up someones sagging ego. Don't believe them to the point where you feel inferior.

Absolutely. With sex, your depression also becomes a "self-fulfilling prophesy," because you don't last as long as you like, which only compounds your depression further.

If you feel like you're depressed, seek help. Depression is not just a "bad day" or even a "bad week," but depression is a deep, continual feeling of being "down" for more than two weeks. You often feel like you have a heavy black curtain over your life. And if you've ever experienced depression before, chances are you'll experience it again.

And to top it all off, many of the treatments available today for clinical depression can cause sexual side effects, such as decreased libido (not being motivated to have sex).

I can not stress enough that you need to see a doctor. Don't be embarrassed about this; millions of people each year are diagnosed with clinical depression. And tell your doctor about your desire to avoid sexual side effects if he prescribes you medication for your depression. Certain medications (like Wellbutrin) do not cause sexual side effects.

Good luck!

Absolutely, depression can have a negative effect on your sex life. Also some antidepressants can do the same thing. But just to let you know not all men can last that long even if there are no psych problems.

If you are depressed then, you probably would not be interested in sex at all...I don't think that depression has anything to do with how long you can last!

Sexual desire- is a POSITIVE thing. Depression- is NOT. If you're depressed -it could have a very BIG impact on your sex life unless you DO something about it. So, DO something about it! Sex is aLOT more FUN- than being depressed! :)
