There is a spot on my hand where the skin has peeled away about 3 layers deep, should i consult a doctor?

Yes you should. Poison oak is not good, you might have stuff coming out from your hand soon. Better consult a doctor if you dont know what it is.

I say you probably should talk to a doctor...

Since you say you "think" you got poison oak, it leads me to believe that you aren't 100% sure - it could be something else like an allergy or some other poisonous plant.

I would first get some cream/lotion for poison oak/ivy and see if that helps at all, and if in a day or so it doesn't look better call the doctor. Or if you know someone who is knowledgeable about poison oak or is a nurse ask them as well.

I have no medical background, but that's what I would do.

I've had poison oak plenty of times, I had to get a steroid shot one time it was so bad, other times I just got creme from the Dr. It is a rash and spreads very fast if you keep itching it. I also had hydroxzine to take for itching.........Good Luck

yes see a doc. you probably need a confirmation that you have poison oak and maybe a prescription to help with the rash and itch.
