My mom and I can't have a normal mother/daughter relationship because my step dad is controlling. I have tried everything. All we can do is email each other, or she calls me when he isn't around. I barely know her. He won't let her call me, or go anywhere with me, and I have a 19 year old sister, whom I have never spent any time with, because of him. And to top it all off, I don't attend church on a regular basis, and that plays a lot into it. He is a religious hypocrit. He's a real jerk. He hits my mom sometimes too. I try to do everything I can, but when she does call, or needs help, he always yells at her to get off the phone. I am not sure what to do. Any help or advice, I would really, truely appreciate it. Oh, and also, she only lives 2 blocks from me.

So go see her. She's your mother and you have every right to see her. Only your mother can change her life though, you can't help her with that.

Unfortunately, I can relate to your situation. Your mother needs to be a stronger person for herself and her children. You won't be able to have a relationship with her unless she gets stronger and makes it happen. She needs to get away from that guy. That's sad. I hope things work out for you.

i feel yr step dad is doing something behind yr mom or he did something to yr mom, to avoid the true to comes out he control. Talk to yr mom fine out what is going on...

you can go ask help from the police. tell them your story and let them help your step dad to jail or something. or you may ask help from your relatives that might help get your step dad away from your mother.
