or the like. Why do they act like it is so much worse. Sorry, but I don't believe that picking grapes in the sun is harder than laying asphalt or putting a roof on a house in the sun. I think its crap.

There are plenty of homeless and mentally challenged people that would be glad to work in the farmers fields. Not to mention kids looking for summer jobs and people that just love to garden. But when was the last time you saw an add in the help wanted adds for a farm worker? It seems to me that the United Farm workers Union has taken control of that field of employment and has made it available only to illegals.

Although this is a statement and not a question.... if you haven't noticed, many immigrants are doing those jobs too, and they're not complaining about the job, because thats what they came here to do, work, and they knew it wasn't gonna be easy. But they get paid a lot less then others doing that sme job. And you know what work is work, its not right for you to decide whats harder than the other. And to that person that says that they're just in it for the money, i dont think its exactly the way you put it, cause isn't that what everyone is working for? The money. And i think they have a bigger reason to do a quality job since they can get fired a lot easier. And does it really matter if your white, purple, or blue?

When have immigrant farm workers claimed they work harder?

Also, before you claim it's crap... Have you tried picking grapes in the hot sun? Pouring concrete, setting a roof?

The question is why aren't the "Americans" out picking the grapes? The agricultural jobs are out there but the Americans aren't showing up to work? Too busy playing video games?

Also, it depends upon where you live. I've seen immigrants work side by side with Americans where everyone is working equally hard.

When I use American I mean American born whether they be white, black, asian, mexican... etc.

I agree. I think that Americans work harder because we believe in having a nice finished product when we're finished. Hispanics are in it for the money, not the quality. I also believe that only a select few illegals are actually doing those types of jobs. Most of them work in McDonalds running the cash register and screwing up my order.
