well, i have had 3 tattoos. the first one that I got itched like crazy!!! don't peel it, just let it do its own peeling. they are saying now that you shouldn't use an a and d ointment on it, but instead to use a fragrance free lotion on it. i don't know where anyone got the idea to "slap a tattoo to settle the ink" but it doesn't work, sorry! just try the lotion and try to put it on at least 3 times a day! you dont' want it too moist as it needs to heel! it takes about 14 days for it to heal all the way!!

If the itch becomes to unbareable...slap it. It will satisfy the itch without taking up the ink. It doesnt settle any ink...it just satisfies the itch without scratching.

Whoever said that it takes 6 weeks to heal is insane! It takes about 2 weeks for the scabbing to come off. Once the scabbing is off--it is healed. Keep it out of direct Sunlight for 4 weeks but it is healed after about 2.

Tattoo Goo is a good product but you can go to Walmart, Walgreens, etc and get plain, non-scented Curel and it works just as good.

I use A and D when it is scabbed over but I use it in moderation. A and D has high vaseline in it and vaseline will pull out your ink.

Do not massage the tattoo or you run the risk of pulling the ink out when the scab comes off because you are rubbing it. For that matter you do not want to massage over it for at least 6 weeks, maybe longer. It needs to be completely, I mean completely, healed before you get a massage or you can ruin it.

Its okay for it to be itching and peeling like others have said before. But after about two, or three days after you get your tattoo finished ( about when the ink scabs have come off and the itchiness begins ) you should start using a non-scented lotion like Luberderm. You will be putting in on more frequently but it will help to rub that on that there and temporarily relieve your itch!

Actually you really don't need Tattoo Goo. You should get plain A&D ointment from the drug store and put thin layers. It helps heal faster. It's gonna itch though. Try puting some ice around the tattoo not directly on it. It calms down the itch almos immediatly.

That's natural. Just don't scratch. For all my tats, I've used lubraderm (spelling?) lotion, and apply it a few times a day to keep it moist. That will limit the peeling and itching, but it's supposed to do that. No worries.

I just got my first tattoo. My guy recommended just slapping it. I don't think massaging it would be a good idea.

well i used the lubriderm fragrance free lotion. the peeling is supposed to be gone in a while. and it does itch sometimes, and if it does just slap it a little.
