lets say you have a mole (birth mark) somewhere, and co-workers always stare, not a constant stare, but when you say hi or whatever, they are looking at (mole or anything) it may be a quick glance, but they never get their fill, what's up witrh the mo fo's? And am I too self conscious? Even if I am, it still tics me, that people do, it's like they don't respect you.....(anger building up)

People are ignorant and stupid. I guess they think if they stare at it or the person long enough, the ailment will disappear.

I understand your anger, but try not to let it get to you.Easier said than done.

People are naturally inquisitive. Even as babies we had to examine everything before we were content that it was ok in our world. We are no different as adults. Its just part of us. Some of us do it actually without even thinking and don't even realize we may be gaulking and even embarrassing the person we are staring at. Others of us do it out of curiousity for wanting to 'know' just how the person they are looking at got that way and usually if the person is injurred like from a war or something and is scarred bad or lost a limb, they have genuine feelings but don't want to embarrass the person they are looking at by asking so they just stare while they are thinking about them. Some people are actually praying for that person and really not staring but it looks like they are. Then, you do have your kidders and pickers that stare and also the really mean people who laugh and crack jokes at them too. They do it just to be mean. There is nothing you can do about them because they are just very immature emotionally, even the adults. I don't think respect is the word to use for a 'staring' situation. Every reason is a different one in each person that does it. Some pity, some are curious, some want to reach out and don't know how, some are just mean for no reason. If its any consolation, the croud that followed Jesus to the cross had all those types of people in it too. Some laughed at him, some spit at him, some scorned him, some weeped for him, some took pity on him and some prayed for him.

maybe they cant help it like its subconscious. like if you are talking to someone with a piercing on their face your eyes would flicker to that. not cos you dont like it or do like it just cos its there. they may not even know they are doing it. i can see how that would be freaking irritating though. so fair enough it annoys you. you cant change people tho.
