I have many opportunites to work in the USA but the companies do not do sponsorship..does anyone have a list of sponsoring companies for auto/fleet mechanics in Orange County..California? I have over 15 yrs of fleet experience. I am a Canadian and Italian citizen. Or do you know of any other way to legally enter the USA permanently to live and work?( I do not have any immediate family in the USA, I am not eligible for a TN Visa (auto mechanics are not on the Nafta list) and I am already married, so these three ways won't work for me) I will pay all required fees to obtain a green card or working visa.

Employers with job openings must offer those jobs to Americans citzens first. IF he/she have a opening that ONLY SOMEONE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY CAN QUALIFY FOR, THEY MUST FIRST POST THOSE JOBS IN THE NEWSPAPERS and if NO AMERICAN have the qualification he/she are looking for then he can hire immigrants,
FOR INSTANCE, If the employer is looking for someone to cook some really odd or rare menus...like maybe a chinese dish, he has to explain that the person must KNOW HOW TO MAKE, I'll say PEKING DUCK, and must have experience serving an ASIAN EMPEROR ( smiles... this is just hypothetical) HE HAS TO LEAVE IT IN THE PAPERS FOR A CERTAIN NUMBER OF DAYS and if he doesn't get someone to respond, then he can hire maybe some one in his family from Asia who will claim to have those experiences. IT ISN'T easyTO GET WORK HERE while you are IN another country unless YOU HAVE EXCEPTIONAL SKILLS that THE EMPLOYER HAVE HEARD YOU HAVE AND HE RECRUIT YOU BY WRITING THE government and filling out some papers. IN VIEW OF THAT, I don't see much hope for you to get here sponsered by an employer based on the skills you say you have. I'M ALMOST CERTAIN THERE ARE unemployed AUTO MECHANICS here.

Your first step is to get a PhD in science or engineering. Then a company has to prove that there are no Americans they can hire for a job that you can do. If they can do that, they will be able to get an H1B visa to bring you to the US. 6 years later, if they want to keep you, they can sponsor you for a green card. It will probably take about another 6 years after that to get the green card. No companies are really doing this these days. The cost and the risk are just too high. But you have a long road to travel before you can get a green card this way. The economy will be different, and it may be common for companies to sponsor green cards in the future.

A company must hire you and it must send the contract of employment for you to apply for a working visa.

Whatever country you are in you must know there are no short-cuts these days to the US. Contact your local American Embassy, and they will help you with all the forms.
