The earth will not be destroyed completely and no one knows the day or the hour when the rapture will occur. However, for the sake of argument, lets say it starts on that date. It will begin in the Coordinated Universal Time. The International Date Line will have no effect because Jerusalem is the center of the earth.

hehehee silly wabbit---first you would have to ask WHICH dec. 21, 2012?!!? Hehheeee the calendars have changed a few times since such calculations.
The Dec. 21st comes from the Mayan calendar, so it might be THEIR time zone...since the rest of the world didn't exist to them. Though people just say dec. 21 is the END cuz its the last day of their calendar...but some ALSO say that perhaps the Mayan thought 600yrs of calcuations was enough, and they would ADD to the calendar when they needed too!?!?! but unfortuantely, didn't get the chance.

I heard about this one. Was it the Mayans or Aztecs that came up with it? Anyway I heard they were never wrong in their predictions and even predicted when white settlers would come to the EXACT date. Impressive, huh? It actually has me nervous about this one Not sure about the time zone though.

Since that part of Mexico is located in the Central Time Zone it would be logical to assume that that is where that non-event would begin to happen.
