Jesus was the son of God. God is our father/mother and Jesus is our brother.When Jesus said my father and I are one he was referring to being of the same spirit. If Jesus and God are the same then Jesus suffered from a split personality disorder. Who was he crying out to on the cross? Himself? It doesn't make sense because its not sensible.

Jesus is God son, and there are many scriptures to verify this. However just these should show that Jesus is not God John 19: 30, 32,33. These verses show that Jesus actually died. But we know that God CANNOT DIE (Rev 21: 6) He is the Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end. Therefore Jesus was a separate being to God. Ask the next Jehovah's Witness who knocks on your door. They will be able to explain in much more detail. Keep on asking questions because thats the way to life (Pro2: 1-11 and John 3: 35, 36)

Scripture says over and over again that Jesus Christ is God. Jesus said this, His diciples said this, etc. You need to study your history more, the early church fathers who lived in the second century said He was God. Also the prophets said the Christ would be God. Jesus proved He was God when He rose from the dead. The divinity of Christ is a fundamental aspect of Christianity and without that belief it would be hard to call yourself a Christian. Ask God to open your heart and mind before you read the scriptures again, so your eyes may be opened and you will see. God bless.

How can you demand logic when discussing religion of any kind? How is believing any one part of the bible over any other part logical? The bible says a lot of things, including that eating shellfish is an abomination (in 2 places, even! Leviticus 11:9-12, Deuteronomy 14:9-10).
So you have one religious belief, and others have other beliefs. Or none at all. Who are you to demand logic of their faith? The whole point of faith is that it is not logical. If it was logical to believe in a certain thing, I'm sure a lot more logical people (scientists, engineers, etc.) would believe in it.

The Bible says Jesus is the way the truth and the light and the only way to heaven is through him. If Jesus were not God, than he would not be the only way to heaven. I myself, as with most people, find it hard to grasp the concept that Jesus was the son of God and God at the same time, but that is where faith comes in.

Actually it does say Jesus is God.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...and the Word was made flesh and dwelled among us" (John 1)
Also in Isaiah: "He shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace"
Also the bible is quite clear that there is no Saviour but God, and no Messiah but the Saviour. If Jesus is the Messiah, then He is the Saviour. And if he is the Saviour, then he is God.
Do you believe the Holy Spirit is God? If not, then who is the Holy Spirit?

You need to remember that you are giving only half of the information. Jesus Christ is God--yes. As He proclaimed in Revelation "I AM the Alpha and the Omega--the ALMIGHTY". But remember that is in the realm of the spirit. The other half of the information is that He was God come in the flesh. That is, He walked through the veil of separation between the eternal and the physical. Which is why His name was to be called "Immanuel", that is "God with us". Saying those cited scriptures are contradictions is based only on half of your information, as if God cannot be in two places at once. He never has been limited, because He is God. Who did Abraham worship and pay tithes to? Who did Jacob wrestle and ask to bless him? Who was the Captain of the Lord's Hosts that Joshua fell down and worshiped? If God cannot come down in the form of man, then is he just a limited god unable to interact with his creation in the physical world?
Do not look upon God as only limited to 4 dimensions. A tree is more than its trunk and branches, there are roots where you can not see that plunge beneath the surface of our reality. If we limit God to what we see or understand, we will miss the depth of who He is. Yes, Jesus was here on earth in the form of man, and yes, as a tree, He was cut down. But beneath the surface of our present reality is the glory of God Himself, and even He, as Messiah, was called "the Branch" which in Hebrew is the little sapling that pops up out of the trunk of a fallen tree.
Without this understanding you are going to run in to a mass of contradictory statements in the Word. Here are a few glaring examples.

BTW, the following religions do NOT believe that Jesus is God come in the flesh.
Islam, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormon Church of Latter Day Saints, Judaism, Christian Scientists, Scientology, Unification Church, The Way International, Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, Sikh, Bah'ai, Taoism, Zoroastrianism, and Wicca.
Seems the only one not in bed with the other religions is Christianity.

Jesus is the Son of GOD.
Jesus was crucified because he said he was GOD.
Jesus is GOD as much as GOD the Father and GOD the Holy Spirit. They were all there for Creation. At the Baptism of Jesus and will be there at the end of this age.
Jhn 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
Jhn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jhn 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Jhn 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Jhn 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Jhn 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Hbr 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hbr 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Hbr 1:3 Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Hbr 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Hbr 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Just one example of Jesus' deity would be in Revelation.
"Then I looked and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands saying with a loud voice;
'Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing'
"And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth, and on the sea and all things in them I heard saying;
'To Him who sits on the throne, AND TO THE LAMB, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and forever.'
And the four living creatures kept saying, Amen, And the elders fell down and worshiped."
Revelation 5:11-14
Now reason through this with me, if Jesus and God didn't share the same deity, how could Jesus be worshiped as equal with God in heaven?
Please don't base your information on a book written by a man. Mankind, unless under the direct inspiration of God, is limited, and cannot comprehend the mind of God.

Well.. I am a christian who believe in trinity.. I hope you are a Witness of Jehova or same kind of believer. The word Trinity is not present in scripture but... it is a concept that there is no existence for Jesus without his father or for spirit of father without Jesus. The God choosen the form of sun to accomplish the Salvation process, through which we all have salvation. But i am not perfect, i am new person who started to learn the word of god. Dear friend its nice to see people are using resources to get their spiritual food. You can keep in touch with me ( mithunkurian@yahoo.com) for more discussion. Lord Bless you a lot.

Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
Matthew 1:23
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" —which means, "God with us."
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Jeremiah 23:5-6
5 "The days are coming," declares the LORD,
"when I will raise up to David [a] a righteous Branch,
a King who will reign wisely
and do what is just and right in the land.
6 In his days Judah will be saved
and Israel will live in safety.
This is the name by which he will be called:
The LORD Our Righteousness.
( when you see LORD typed in all caps that means the original Hebrew word is JHWH or Yahweh or Jehovah -- so in verse 6, Jesus is being called JHWH which is the proper name for God which God gave to Moses from the burning bush )
John 10:
29My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30I and the Father are one."
31Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him,
Here you see that Jesus said, "I and my Father are One" and the reaction of the Jews is to try to stone him, since they understood that Jesus was claiming to be God.
John chapter 6
44"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. 45It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. 46No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father.
Isaiah 54:13 All your sons will be taught by the LORD,
and great will be your children's peace.
( see there is the word LORD in all CAPS )
John 10:33 "We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God."
This was what the Jewish leaders said TO Jesus. They understood that He claimed to be God.
John 20:28
Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
( the above is what doubting Thomas said to Jesus and if you read the whole chapter you'll see that Jesus did not correct Thomas )
Ten other times in the New Testament Jesus is called God.

I hope this helps.

PS: The above is not a complete list. There are more places in the Bible which tell us that Jesus is God, but I can only type so fast.
