Is it boring? I need to change my diet, & I imagine that it would be boring & you'd get tired of eating the same food every single day. What different salad mixtures can I make if I don't eat tomatoes & onions?

I shred carotts and lettuce and chopped cucumbers and mix them all together. They taste really good and sometimes i add in other veggies that i like raw.

Salad doesnt really always have to be regular items like lettuce or tomato.

Sometimes i use cabbage or broccoli or caluiflower. I make sure its all in bite sized pieces.

Also i eat it with my food instead of separately so that way it isnt boring.

Salad doesn't really get boring for me. Often times I will only have salad for lunch, but many times I have the salad with dinner, so I am not just eating salad. Try different types of lettuce and you can use many other veggies in your salad if you don't like tomatoes or onions. There are different kinds of low - cal dressings too.

I love salad and eat one almost every day. Tossed garden greens are my favorite, but salads don't have to be boring. Try using an unusual dressing, or a salad with exotic ingredients.

CUCUMBER DRESSING

1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup chopped peeled cucumber
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
2 tbsp fresh dill or 2 tsp. dried dill weed
1 clove garlic, peeled
Dash salt

In a blender, combine sauce ingredients. Cover and process until it is smooth. Scrape the mixture from the jar of the blender into a small bowl. Cover, and refrigerate until ready to use. Use as a salad dressing or a dip for fresh vegetables.
.
CRAN-RASPBERRY SPINACH SALAD

Spinach salad leaves
Goat cheese or feta cheese
Walnuts
Dried cranberries
Raspberry Vinaigrette

Make a bed of spinach leaves in a small bowl or on a plate. Cut the cheese into small pieces (about the size of a crouton.) Sprinkle cheese, walnuts and dried cranberries onto the salad. Top with Raspberry Vinaigrette.

Look for the bottled raspberry vinaigrette in your local market where the salad dressings are located.

The only unhealthy thing would be the garlic dressing. Even if it's light, make sure you read the ingredients: if it has sugar, it's definitely not good, if it has oil etc, not good. Plus, it will definitely have salt, and you don't really need that since you have the parmesan cheese. Try the salad with a different dressing, try extra virgin cold pressed olive oil with fresh squeezed lemon juice or the olive oil with vinegar (if you can invest in balsamic vinegar, go for it, it's delicious).

No I don't eat salads every day, but two of my favorite things to go in a salad are fresh spinach (baby is the easiest to work with) and mushrooms.

Shucks experiement. Salad can be made from almost any veggie and there are a lot of toppings. I make different ones all the time. I am with you, the same old thing don't cut it.
