Beach weddings are gorgeous, and typically less formal and more relaxed than a "traditional setting." We are a wedding officiant service, and we specialize in beach weddings. The first step would be to check with the county the beach is located in for any zoning regulations, and go from there. Best wishes!

my brother and his wife just had one and it was very pretty.

the beach was right next to a grassy area, so they had nice white chairs on the grassy area for the guests, and they got married on the beach just past the grass under a pretty white arch decorated with flowers.

take into consideration the weather though. sand did blow a little during the ceremony. it wasnt anything terrible, but it want something we really anticipated. it blew more than we expected it to.

if you do decide to do it, try to have it in a place that can section off parts of the beach, so you dont suddenly have people wandering around in the background. where my brother and his wife had it, the sectiond off a huge chunk of the beach for the ceremony (the hotel it was at owned the beach so they could do this). it was kind of funny though, down the beach where the ropes were blocking things off, there was a huge crowd of hotel guests watching the wedding.

um....you can have a lot of fun with beachy decorations with this. you could print your programs on fans in case the weather is really hot. print labels with your names and dates and put them on water bottles so guests arent overheated during the ceremony. seashells and coral make pretty centerpeices.

i would reccomend having only the ceremony outside, so the weather doesnt become a factor.

i like the idea of treasure map style invites, or invites that are sort of a message in a bottle type things.

two aspects of the beach brides forget when they are planning....sand and bathrooms.

I know it's not glamourous but people gotta have a place to go so make sure the only place isn't half a mile back up the beach in the hotel. It needs to be close.

Sand, blows everywhere and easily sticks to things. Make sure you have some sort of windbreaker or netting for the food...I've had way too many uninentionally crunchy food because it was romantically breezy.

A beach wedding can be sooo romantic. I have found a lot of information at the Unity Sand Ceremony site. You need to plan carefully and they have lots of ideas.

Very romantic, I say you have it up on a hill by the water, right before sunset, then when you get to kiss the sun goes down in the herizon.

Great idea! You'll need to pick where! This country? Mexico? Hawaii? Florida? Cali?
then pick a resort or planner. Best wishes!

don't- not if you want anyone to be able to hear anything. it's a beautiful idea- but choose a nice locale with views of the beach, but up a bit so that people can hear your ceremony, the music, and each other!
