Nowhere in the Bible does it state that God is Omnipotent so why do Christians say that he is?
It says in the Old Testament quite frequently that God was angry with all the sinners and the sinning but if he was omnipotent he would already know they were going to disappoint him, wouldn't he?

Why would they use "Almighty" when "Omnipotent" is greater and would encompass more?

Rev Albert- He knew he was going to make that error? That doesn't make sense, how can one who is "all knowing" make an error?

or why would God say NOT to eat of the Tree of Knowledge, when God would know that Adam was going to eat of the Tree?

OR why would God place Deut 4:2 into the Law (not adding nor subtracting from the WORD of God) when there was going to be a NEW TESTAMENT?!?

Revelation 19:6
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Omnipotence means that God is all-powerful or that He has unlimited power. It is significant because it establishes God’s ability to carry out His sovereign will. Because God is omnipotent and has infinite power, nothing can stop His decreed will from happening, and nothing can thwart or stop His divine purposes from being fulfilled. There are many verses in the Bible where God reveals this aspect of His nature. One such verse is Psalm 115:3: “But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.” Or when answering His disciples' question “Then who can be saved?” (Matthew 19:25) Jesus answers them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

They taught that in Sunday school.

Don't mistake His allowing mankind freedom to choose right or wrong with His inability to change this (I think we will lose that choice in heaven), or anything else.

He has decided that we are better off as free, rather than "puppets", on the learning-ground of ths planet.

I think we'll wake up in heaven someday, and realize that the "hell on earth" that we 'survived' by dying, was just a nightmare, and it's "all over".

It has no effect in the real life of eternal paradice. Pitty the poor aborted souls who will not know this "hell on earth", thus finding an absence of evil in heaven "boring",

When they say "You can't take it with you", they mean wealth and earthly possessions, but we can't take injuries and pain with us either.

In eternity, He will show us why it was necessary, love and protect us forever, and "make it all better"!!!

He is all powerful, but we are temporarily allowed to disobey Him (because WE wanted to know evil), and "spoil" this world, BUT only for a time!!!

Trust Him. He IS Omnipotent. The trouble is, we are flawed without bonding to Him for strength.

Hail the power of God.The power of God,what is the power it is "omnipotent".
Once again as scripture is translated meaning of words and there use is altered. But the power of God is spoken of in the Bible and his power and presence is evident in the word.

Omnipotent can't create a rock to heavy to lift. Omnipotent is just an exaggerated term for all powerful, and omniscience is also an exaggerated term for all-knowing.

Judges 1:19
And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

Hmmm...

He does already know that there are those who will not accept Him. Omnipotent means almighty...and yes, the bible does declare God as God Almighty.

To believe God to be omnipotent is to believe in Mechanistic Determinism and that's a kind of scary thought leaving us all with no will what-so-ever.

Omnipotent means 'all powerful' ..yes, the Bible says He is all powerful....please learn the meaning of the word...and PLEEASE LEARN the Scripture...you obviously don't know it.

All knowing is 'omniscience'....and yes, God knew you'd make that error.

If God was not omnipresent he would not say he will preside over our judgements in the last day.He is watching you even as at now when you are asking this.It is said in bible God knew you even before you were born.
