“Fearlessness may be a gift but perhaps more precious is the courage acquired through endeavor, courage that comes from cultivating the habit of refusing to let fear dictate one's actions, courage that could be described as 'grace under pressure' - grace which is renewed repeatedly in the face of harsh, unremitting pressure”
- Aung San Suu Kyi -

Good night :)

I think that she is saying that conquering fear is more important than not having fear in the first place... But that's my interpretation :)

Prideful is one of the last words I'd choose to describe Aung San Suu Kyi. You have no idea what this woman has been through...

The only fearless human is a stupid human. Fear can get our adrenaline going so that we can react to dangerous situations.

Fear can wither kill you, or give you a chance to live.

There isn't any bravery in being fearless, there is only not accepting the truth. Someone who fears and knows the possible harm, but sets it aside and does what is necessary is brave.

I find that the statement that you presented is true.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear, from "Dune" by Frank Herbert.

"Fear exists to warn us of danger, not to make us afraid of it."

Duncan MacLeod, "Highlander: The Series."

follow the dreams you have in your heart and don't let someone else's fears stand in your way.... gypsy..

Often in life other people deter you from going your own way because they have fears.... Someone is always saying no... When the nay sayers show up at your door don't listen.

I agree with her - overcoming your fear enough to act when needed is braver than never fearing anything at all - no fear ever is foolishness.

Sleep sweetly when you do.

Sounds prideful. Sounds like a fearlessness not of God and not to the glory of God. Is it true? In the mind of the unbeliever, just about anything can seem true. So, sure, for your purposes, I'm sure it's true to you.

Pride goeth before the fall.

Or you could leave well enough alone and get on with your pathetic excuse for life.
