Hi info please! I was your age and had the same problem when I was going off to college. If you are going somewhere nearby to college? I suggest you go there and ask their therapist or counselor for an appointment - and KEEP it! - If not nearby (I mean the college?) maybe go to the high school where you went and talk to your own former guidance counselor. This is important or else you might not ever succeed at escaping your appendage to your home-life and parents nor succeed in your upcoming BRIGHT and absolutely EXCITING future! I really mean it!

The University you will be attending is very likely to have psychologists on hand to help you with any of your needs once school starts. It's usually free. You may also be feeling anxiety from the excitement of such a large change. The adrenaline your system pumps out when you think of all the new things ahead makes it even worse, doesn't it? Don't worry. You will enjoy college, and all the activities there, and many new friends, too. If you have more questions you may email me through my profile.

Yea, I have alot of anxiety too. I had it really bad especially when I went to church when I was younger for some reason. Usually they will prescribe you paxil or something like that. You may need to see a psychologist, I did at 12 when I didn't want to go to church and would have panic attacks.

sometimes opening up to friends and getting the problem, and you know what it is, its something, helps to elevate the situation....it just seems like a psychogist will do the same, but cause more anxiety because of the money involved....Ive myself have found that friends can help in many ways

I suggest that you go and see your family doctor first and then thy can figure out the best treatment for you. Anti anxiety tablets might just do the trick for you. Good luck!!!!

Yes, by all means see a psychologist. Social anxiety can be crippling, but it can be beaten also.
