I looked in many dream dictionaries for this, but can't seem to find one piece of the puzzle.

My ex-boyfriend told me he had a dream about us, we were walking together, strolling right along, and a bird attacked me. In the dream, he was singing as he was walking with me, until the bird attacked me. I don't have any other details on this.

Can anyone tell me about why one person would dream of another person being attacked by a bird? That's the part I haven't gotten insight on yet. My ex and I get along really well and have been friends, no animosity.

Thanks :)

Thanks for all the answers so far, some are pretty thought-provoking :) The one about his more nurturing side feeling attacked or pressured especially, thanks crocus :)

Just for extra info, I had already checked all kinds of dream interpretation books and sites before I came here, and found that flying birds, singing, and walking are all signs of contented joy and happiness. Which is great and the fact that I was in that kind of happy/contented dream with him, is very cool because my ex has very vivid, very unusual dreams. Usually they make for a good story over drinks :)

**The only thing I hadn't found some insight to, like I said, was the part where a person has a dream where someone else is being randomly attacked by a bird.**

Thanks for all the answers so far, just glad you took the time to respond and please keep them coming :)

you say he is your ex-boyfriend, so I assume there were differerences and issues that led to the breakup even though you are still friends. If we assume that all dream characters including animals are representing parts of ourself , then perhaps the bird represents some unresolved anger towards you. He is walking with you as a friend, but the bird shows me there are some other feelings that are not being expressed.

If you have ever said anything bad about his singing, the bird could represent his anger at that. He might also feel singing is a private thing, and should be done alone.

It might fit if he feels you have 'wormed' your way into his life...it fits with a bird attack.

There might not be any animosity(that you know of) in real life....but the subconscious is a whole different world.

Only your boyfriend can answer this. He would have to think about the female side of his personality - the nurturing side of HIMSELF that he would associate with mother, sister, lover. What is under attack in his life? For example, he is strolling along in life, carefree and singing, but is he neglecting the nurturing part of his personality?

Perhaps what the bird represents is something that came out of the blue, and attacked his perception of you, causing you to break up, and now it haunts his subconscious because he is no longer sure it was true.
