I personally feel that if you don't speak their language - Cantonese, you're out-casted. If you skin colour is different, you definitely get 'chop'.

English is a first language in Singapore therefore you've no problem getting around.

You do get better service standard and easier to get things done in Singapore.

But of course when you talk about the cost of living, the housing cost is scoring high in Hong Kong but others is slightly cheaper than Singapore.

Wait. English is a first language in Singapore? Unless you meant Singaporean English. And that's with a very funny heavy accent. Sorry, Singaporeans. Hong Kong is more metropolitan and you'll see different faces everywhere. Though English is not a first langauge but the majority of the people there except for the elderlies understand it perfectly. Street signs, subway, buses are all bi-lingual.

I can tell you that anything is better than mainland China where people are racist, and only focus on how to get your money in their hands with the help of the local authorities.
