Well, I'm a convert so I've only ever known the Novus Ordo. But I did go to a Latin Mass once and I thought it was beautiful.
I did have some trouble following along because it was so new to me. But I like the fact that the priest faces the altar with us, as one of us. It's less like a performance. I also like the communion rail...we should all be kneeling when we receive the Lord. It seems right.

My husband grew up with the traditional Latin mass, and as a comparatively recent convert I'm familiar only with the Novus Ordo. We're both looking forward to the increased availability of the Tridentine within our diocese, so that we can attend either. He is brushing up on the Latin he was taught in school ... I'll have to rely on the side-by-side translation in the 1962 missal for a while.

I belong to the Ukrainian (Ruthenian) Rite, so not much changed for us after Vatican II. I've never seen so many eyebrows raised for so long. The Novus Ordo is considered a step toward Protestantism by other Catholics.
Although, I've never heard a Latin mass, except once at Christmas, from the outside. I understand that for the most part, people wished to say the mass in their mother tongue, not in a Language of conquorers. We Ukrainians were luckier than most in that Leo whoever, the Pope at the time (988AD), allowed us to say the mass in Ukrainian, since neither Greek nor Latin was getting through to any of us. (Stubborn lot we are). We did stop the Tatars from overrunning Europe, though. (The hillbillies and goat-herders stopped them, not the Cossacks.)
You're welcome.

I've only been to the Novus Ordo mass. I'd love to attend a traditional mass, but I think those are only going to be held for special occasions at my church.
My favorite mass is the Celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It's said in Spanish (which I know no words to) and is very beautiful.

When I was Catholic I love Latin Mass. Obviously I couldn't go all the time or I would have no idea what they were saying but I actually still enjoy a Latin Mass in a big church. It's very pretty.

When I was Catholic my only preference about mass was for it to last less than an hour. If we got out of there in 45 minutes, I knew it was going to be a great day!

I attended the Latin mass when in first grade in a Catholic school. I was an atheist then, I was expelled for it, and I'm still and atheist. However, their mess, er mass, is a pretty good show for bored kids.
