What can it be? It is only when I turn the stereo on that this happens. I can hear the squeal only through my speakers, and as I accelerate, the squealing patterns along with the acceleration.

Find where the ground for the radio is...clean it and then try again. If problem still persists, move ground to a different part of the car...if problem still persists, re-ground your alternator. It's called alternator whine.

I would check the ground wire running from the stereo. It sounds like it is not grounded properly. I had the same problem in my max after a stereo and speaker overhaul.

P.S The ground wire is black.

I am pretty sure that you need a filter between the radion positive and ground. The stereo you bought doesn't have one integrated to the unit. Radio shack could help.. Good luck.

Do you also have an amp. either case it is most likely due to a poor ground. check all your grounds that pertain to your audio equipment.

try installing resister spark plugs. that should eliminate the problem.
