Ok, idiots who can't get a clue..this question is asked in religion and spirituality...so therefore I mean what do you believe in as a religion...when I say I don't want a generic answer, I mean I don't want the common answers that normally come from followers of different religions and I want to know why they believe in their paticular beliefs!

I don't have any beliefs.
I experienced God directly when I was seventeen. Hard to believe in something when you know it's true as a personal fact.
I've never joined any religion. I've studied almost all of them.
I have scientific training and have certain hypotheses about why things are the way they are, but they are always open to question.

I believe in keeping an open mind and heart. I am not as sure as others seem to be about what is truth and what isn't. So, in a sense I am always evolving in my beliefs as new information and experiences arise. My beliefs are continually unfolding. That is, to me, the amazing aspect of spiritual growth; I never get bored.

I believe in the Earth, the Air, Fire and Water. I believe that we are born, we live and we die, and that no one knows what happens to us after we die. I believe that people who believe in the dogma of mainstream religions such as Christianity do so out of fear of not existing after death, so they have found it necessary to make up a lot of nonsense which has screwed up the world considerably.
I believe there is no devil. I believe in the power of people to be kind, to be infinitely healing and loving , as well as unspeakably cruel. I believe in that having patriarchy and misogyny in our society has done more damage than just about any other social forces in history.
I believe in taking personal responsibility for our actions. I believe that there are many things that I don't understand. I believe in the power of magic that exists in life and in love.

I believe the bible is the ony infallible truth there is.
I believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, shed His precious blood on calvary's cross, and is now seated at the right hand of God in heaven where He is waiting for the Father to tell Him to come and rapture His church.
I believe that I am saved, sanctified, and justified ony by the grace of God; because He loved me.
I believe all of these things because of all the miracles that God had performed in my life.
My husband and I (before we were saved) lived hellish lives and got divorced for two years. It's a very long story of the way he brought us back together and healed our marriage. God changed me from being very shy w/ low self esteem to a bold witness for Christ. I love Him and I praise Him for that.
I hope this isn't a generic answer...
God bless you and have a great day!

I believe all life is sacred, gay marriage is wrong, the environmeant needs protecting, and we should do our best to ease suffering in developing countries. All life is a gift from God whether it be a human being or the planet itself. God meant for marriage to be between a man and a woman not two men or two women, and finally we should love our neighbors children like we love our own children and letting them stave should be as horrifying as if our positions were switched.

Hope you don't find this generic, but I believe in Christ our Lord. I believe in perfect happiness. I believe in "happily ever after" and soul mates. I believe in the power of a parents love for their child. I believe in myself and my family. I believe in God because I can feel Him in my heart, I know he's real. I believe in soul mates because I found mine and I have my perfect happiness. I believe in the power of a parents love because I am one and the love for my children is so strong it's unreal. I believe these things because I choose to. I have not always believed the way I do, but I am at my happiest now in life w/ myself and the beliefs I have.

I believe in every thing contained in the Holy Word of God; for God has proved it to be truth time and time again. I would stand on the Word of God against any other force or source which attempts to prove itself greater.

This is like asking a war hero what he's been through.
And he wants no 'generic' answer. Cute.
So here's an example of answering this question properly I guess:
"I believe in my tomcat, Smoke. He speaks only to me at night and tells me the word of Goat. Goat is someone that has vested the power to walk on water in him according to what he claims.Thereby I can foretell what tune everybody will be listening to when doomsday arrives. Deep Purple ftw!"
Satisfied?

I believe in questioning beliefs and insisting on direct, empirical experience and on valid psychological principles.
That's why I practice contemplative techniques, in general, and Buddhist practices, in specific.
