This is possible and its done all the time. If you don't already have the motor, you can purchase a newer SR20 for the same price as an old one. But if not your main problem is going to be with the wiring because you'll be putting an obdi engine into an obdii car but these problems will be minimum. You need to go to SR20forum.com go to the technical forum section at the top of the page, there is a whole step by step guide to the swap. You are going to need alot of stuff though and unless you wait for good deals or pull alot of it from the junkyard yourself its going to cost you, so I'd really think about if this is what you want to do before you start tearing your car apart. And there is no need to worry about "frame strength" I'm sure as you already know these cars came stock with SR20's and can handle it just fine. Happy Swapping - Josh

I think it should be okay but watch out for the frame strenth. It might not be able to hold that new big engine. If it does, your car is going to be awesome. The car is a bit old so for sure check your frame strenth and also be careful that it doesnt crack the frame.

Did you know your 11 year old car a 18 year old motor? Why don't you think something a little more modern? The Rogue is comming soon!
