Drinking any amount of ice cold water above a few sips (say a whole water bottle or more) is going to burn more calories b/c it revs up your metabolism. Drinking ice cold water will rev up your metabolism by 30-40%, but it will only last for about an hour, so you should drink a lot throughout the day. Also, staying in cold rooms also raises your metabolism, as your body works harder to stay warm internally.

The theory is that drinking cold water will make you burn calories, because it takes energy for your body to bring the water up to your body temperature.
A calorie is the amount of heat energy it takes to raise one cc (milliliter, which is equal to 1 gram) of water 1 degree centigrade. Two quarts of water is just under 2 liters. So, we'll say you drink 2 liters of water (2000 cc), so the math comes out easier.
The difference in temperature between ice water (say, 0 degrees centigrade) and normal body temperature (98.6 degrees Farenheit or 37 degrees centigrade) is 37 degrees centigrade.
So, it takes 37 x 1000 x 2 = 74,000 calories of energy to raise the temperature of 2 liters of ice water to body temperature.
However, this does not take into account the natural friction of the fluids flowing in your body that generate internal heat. Physical motion also generates body heat (an autonomic reaction of shivering generates heat in the body). This is in conjunction with the chemical reactions in your body (exothermic) that do not burn calories.
A lower body core temperature will also constrict blood vessels throughout your body, increasing friction.
So, while drinking cold water may increase the amount of calories you burn, it is far from a one-to-one relationship with the amount of energy it takes to increase the temperature of the cold water you consume.

a negligible amount, just what your body needs to get the water up to temp because it is so cold. ice cold water mainly helps with hunger pangs.
