Subject: Re: 1999 Audi : A4 QUATTRO AWD Perfect Condition Carfax - $2900
If you are interested in buying the car you have to know that once you receive it you have 2 days to test drive it and to inspect it,and if you find that it is not like I said, you can send it back on my expence...but I'm sure that won't be the case...(the car is in perfect condition).
The protection works like this.
After starting up the transaction at eBay Protection Program, my money which are deposited in their safe account will blocked untill the end of the deal, so I won't be able to withdraw them until we've finished the deal.
You make the payment to eBay Protection Program you have to send the money to the eBay agent not to me so in this case
i can't touch your money untill you receive the car.In case you will not receive the car as i described to you,eBay will refund you with 100% from the whole amount which you paid to the eBay agent.Even in case you will not receive the car, they will refund you the money. But this is not the case.
Also, I have to let you know that I want the payment priorr shipping since I will shipp it in the same day or next days the payment is complete .For the moment I can only accept a wire transfer as a payment method and the fastest is Western Union.
After they check the payment they announce me to start the shipping.
After you will receive the car and see that is ok, you have to announce them that you have it.
Only then, eBay Protection Program will send me the money. I will not receive any money before you will receive the car.
In order to begin the deal please send me your full name and your shipping address so that I will let eBay Protection Program know that you are interested .
You will receive an email from them instructing you about how to send payment
Thank's

Scam... Anyone that wants you to Western Union or Wire the money I would stay clear of, plus this person does even write properly. If you are interested I would ask for references. Plus, according to Ebay you need to purchase the car through Ebay motors.

Yeah, no. . .Sorry, it sounds like a scam. After all they can't make the rules, generally every state has a "lemon" law, where you can return a car not in condition stated for 30 days, so their 2 day limit right away is a warning signal. And it seems sort of pushy, plus who has ever heard of payment like that. . . I mean, sure it could be a nice honest guy. . . .Depends how attached and risky you want to be with 3 grand.

It sounds complicated and I would be afraid to buy a car that way. Also, if it is for sale on Craigs List then it is probably not actually associated with eBay and therefore a scam. Check with eBay about this to be sure.

Yes it a scam. Those are worth 6,000 to 14,000 depending on condition. I use Craigslist a lot and there is always some idiot on there trying to rip someone off. With that site DO NOT buy anything off of there unless you see it in person and it has a clean title. Craigslist relies heavily on complaints from other users to patrol the site and they have little to do with fraud control. They aren't like Ebay to where you have to have an account to list things.

well the eBay protection program is real, but didn't you say that you found it on Craig's list. anyways just make sure that is where your money is really going. check and make sure the email that you receive is authentic not just one that he copied or created himself. in my experience working with eBay i have always been satisfied and have never had a problem getting in touch with them. once i had a seller take like three months to send my purchase to me and i contacted eBay via their customer service link and they responded to me quickly and contacted the seller. i received my purchase a few days later.
Just be thorough and be a smart buyer. good luck!!

That's a scam, a safer way is to send me the money via western union and have the seller ship me the car. After i get the money and the car, i'll give it to you, i promise.

sound stupid? So does that ad.

This a typical Craiglist scam. I buy and sell cars on Craigslist on a fairly common basis. This car and many like it are listed everyday.
A good rule of thumb is "if it sounds to good to be true, it is"
