No way is that too sensitive, i'm a nurse too (veterinary) and I had one client who clicked her fingers at me!
I nearly decked her there and then, only she had a big dog, so i didn't. lol.

No, you are not too sensitive! This is rude and you have every right to ask these people to quit it. If they complain to the supervisor and she backs them up, go over her head. There are few situations even in healthcare that warrant someone touching you without warning and none that call for poking!

Wow that's a tough one...for one thing I agree it is rude of them...And for you to think you'll get anywhere without a sign that says, "Touch at your own peril" you won't!
People under stress are rude! After working at a hospital for 33 years I discovered most people are dead to the hurts of others when they have problems on their minds...Someone that would not hurt a fly become Frankenstein and loose all sensitivity towards others.
Most often they pick on the closest to their problem without meaning to. The closet being you the nurse...they become impatient because of the stress they're under.
You can't help your situation by correcting them either...you'll end up in your supervisors office getting a talking to about YOUR insensitivity...Trust me, been there...done that.
Best thing to do is adapt to it, or find a new profession.

It is rude. No you are not being too sensitive. "Excuse me" is the civilized way of asking for someone's attention. No one would pokes a bus driver, sales rep in a store, server, or anyone else that works with the public.
I would look at them with a frown, say "don't poke (whatever) me, if you want my attention, just ask" correcting their mistake - patronizing - yes, they deserve it.

Everytime someone pokes you yell OW at the top of your voice ! They might feel guilty and not do it again lol !
It shouldn't be seen as part and parcel. Should I get bit all the time because of my job? (to those who don't know me, I'm an alligator trainer) LOL !

It is extremely rude. Is this patients are co-workers who do this? Neither one should. You are not being too senstive. I did not think being touched in an wanted manner was "part and parcel" of any job.

Some people are kinda rude...
It's not the best way to get someone attention. I see how it would be irritating.
I would 'play full' poke the hell out of someone that is doing it to me....like how do YOU like it? huh huh ?? Hopefully they get the point

Not to me. I don't mind a gentle touch if heck has broken loose and they've tried to get my attention verbally already.
But poking? What adult pokes for attention?

I HATE POKING! I can't believe you have adults doing this to you. I won't even tolerate it when my kids do it to me. A simple "excuse me" is the appropriate way to get someone's attention.
