You think these guys are tough? Anybody, and I mean anybody, can sound tough behind a computer screen. When put in front of actual people, their rude comments are useless. They have no protection. I deal with it without any problem. They're just immature and their egos are as big as their non-existing balls. Just ignore them.

One of Yahoo's best features, at least in Game Rooms, is the 'Ignore' button, or 'iggy' as it's often known. Yes, bullies crave attention, so denying a rejoinder takes the wind out of their sails. That said, I gotta say, I was playing Cribbage last week and a guy jumped into the lobby chat with ALL CAPITAL LETTERS and obscenities, curses, etc. In his case, his 'spiel' was so pathetic that EVERYONE jumped on him (we're talking pixels on a screen, remember) and many of those comebacks to him were hilarious; and the more he tried to be gross, vile, tough, wiseguy-ish, whatever, the funnier things got. I guess what I'm saying is, ignore the jerks, but sometimes it's fun to "poke the monkey." But: NEVER give out personal info online, in public chatrooms,

Unsolicited vitriolic language under the guise of
" I tell it like it is!"
In my day, they used to say, "At least I am honest!" Or worse yet, "The truth hurts, doesn't it?" The more things change the more they stay the same. It is just venom and we all know it. You have to grow a thick skin and ignore it. Cause that is what it is worth. It is worth, nothing...

To respond to the other comments... I honestly don't believe that all of these people are immature, or that all of them are weak loser types in RL. To be honest, I think there is a mix of people who do it. Some of them are intimidating in real life as well; some of them are cowards. Some of them are just having a bad day. Some of them are angry. You never really know who you're talking to, even when you think you do. I also don't think that all of their blabber comes across as unsophisticated. I have received extremely wrong and unqualified answers from those who believe themselves to be very intelligent, mature and successful and are "only trying to help" and I have received very right answers in a childish tone. I have received rude, childish answers as well. I'm not sure which one you're referring to. When it's the rude, unnecessary comments, I just try to ignore it. Harder to deal with are those who think they're "just being honest" or "telling you what you need to hear" but in reality are the ones who need to slow their roll. They think they are giving words of wisdom or breaking your denial, but they are doing nothing but causing grief. Of course, there are some cases when the truth does hurt, but sometimes I think people are more focused on sounding superior than giving a helpful answer. I either prove to them that they are wrong or just avoid giving them the best answer. It doesn't really matter, because they're just wrong.

You don't deal with them, it doesn't do any good. They can live on the other side of the world or they could live right next door, you would never know. They know these things and that is why they act the way they do. If you attempt to deal with them they just get worse and keep on with their bullshit.

On Xbox Live, they say I have down syndrome and I need to go back to mexico, so I tell them, go f*ck themselves they can go back where they come from. Those who are tough guys on the Internet are bunch of f*cking retards in real life.

I typically ignore them. Most people who make comments in conversations like that aren't knowledgeable enough to back up their childish banter anyway. Trying to confront them typically leads to a idiotic exchange of attacking your mom and things like that. I feel like if people are going to be tough, back it up!

They are venting whether you care or not. Don't waste time giving them any consideration. Carry on with your discussion with those that have something to contribute, ignoring the moron. Eventually he/she will move on.
