My mom left me when I was little and my dad (kinda strict) won't lend me money. He says that I should start earning my money since I'm 17. He also thinks I will blow it all, which I won't!!! He says I already ask him for too much money anyways.

Have you thought about talking to the principal about this?

Can you play an instrument and sing? or have some other talent you are good at it? Busking/open air performances at a farmers or crafters market or even on the street is a time honored way to earn quick money. I did this through high school, and even now when times are tight. It is not begging, and it's fun...and if you're good people can tip very well. Some cities and towns require a permit or limit the areas you can do this in, so check your town's rules.
Also go to your state employment department. sometimes they have listings for casual labor which can be anything from picking up litter to babysitting to washing cars.

You have a couple of options...start a cottage industry like babysitting, walking dogs, pet sitting, house cleaning, doing folks laundry, landscaping, mowing lawns, washing cars, etc.
You could also register with some temp agencies & see what kind of work they they can help you find that will be short enough term to not interfere with school but will earn enough to help with the uniforms.

does the school have a used uniform closet? maybe you could borrow a few things until you are able to afford them??
good luck sweetie
Edited to add: the guy a few down had a great idea about donating plasma! They pay (at least here) at $25 per sitting. Plus you are helping to save someone's life! This is all relative, of course, to how old you are. There are age restrictions.
If your father has you in a school with required uniforms, it is his responsibility to provide them for you given that you are still a minor under his supervision. Ask him to go with you to buy them.

A few options:
--Donate plasma at a plasma center. You could earn plenty for a uniform after 3 or 4 donations over a two week period.
--Sell some stuff on eBay.
--Sell some music CD's to a record store.
--Hold a garage sale if you have lots of sellable used items.
--If you know how to do yard work, offer to do some for neighbors.

Talk with family members, or even your teachers, or counselors. Someone may be willing to loan you money and you can repay them when you get that job in the winter. But, keep in mind, life is like this, and working hard, earning things builds your character. Best wishes to you.

Babysitting? Dogwalking? Pet sitting? Mother's helper? Lawn work?
Go around the neighborhoods and post a sign saying you will do any or all of the above.

The only solutions would be asking for a little bit of money from friends and family. they should be willing to help out. Also, maybe if you have a credit card....you can buy your outfit that way.
They have these "wishlist" type stuff online......but I don't think it is easy to get "picked'

Go on craigslist and check out the gigs section. There are usually plenty of opportunities to make a quick buck there. Hope this helps!
