That's just a tragedy, and my heart goes out to his family. I'm an atheist, not really who you wanted answering, but I had to extend my condolences.
I'd definitely prefer my children to be alive and happy, and it matters not to me what path they take in order to have a fulfilling life.

Obviously a living one because a living one can repent his sins, accept Jesus and get right with God.
For a dead one it's sadly too late.
The sin is not having homosexual inclinations - the sin is giving in to them. To give an example, someone might be born with an inclination to steal, but acting on it and stealing things is a choice - he can choose to do it or he can choose to resist the impulse (unless of course he is mentally ill). What we are talking about is a conscious, deliberate, informed decision to do something.
Every one of us straight or gay has broken 2 or more commandments - nearly everyone has lied, taken something that didn't belong to them, taken God's name in vain, been jealous of what someone else had, had adulterous thoughts etc, so like all of us, the gay boy has committed multiple sins and by God's laws we all deserve to die and we all need to be saved before it's too late.

If you have children, the answer is always that you would want your child to live, no matter what his beliefs are. As a parent who lost a child, I can tell you that I would have traded my life for hers without a thought and wish I could have just one more second with her. Why would you ever wish your child to be dead?

A living gay child. In the act that was done, he couldn't be saved from the sin of his homosexuality. Besides, we should love all people, not just those who are hetrosexual. In death, if he did not attempt to turn to God, I fear for this boy's eternity

I know this is going to sound completely unbelieveable, but there are Christians who would not care if their children were homosexuals. I know, I know, its crazy, right? Fundamentalists make up more than half of the Christians in the US, but less than 10% of Christians world-wide.

Living of course. I will and would love my child no matter what decision they made about their life, whether I agreed with it or not.

So far the answers are sick..
Why not love the child for who he/she is?
Where is the love and Christian compassion? Trying to change otehers is not compassionate.

I truly feel in my heart for gay children of ignorant fundies.
Suicide, unfortuntely, is a side affect of the ignorance of religion.
