Prime Rib Seasoning:
1/4 cup black (course) ground pepper
1/4 cup salt
1/4 cup garlic powder
2 tablespoons paprika
1/4 cup onion powder
2 tablespoons MSG (can omit) meat tenderizer
2 tablespoons seasoning salt
1 tablespoon celery salt
Combine ingredients.
Rub 1/2 cup of seasoning per 10 lbs. meat. Rub and massage seasoning in with soy sauce after all wet, work the seasoning in very well! Keep adding more seasoning until you have the amount needed. Place in refrigerator and let seasoning soak into meat for 24 hours before cooking.
Make 1" thick slices in a large onion (more if needed) to line down center of a pan which is large enough to fit your piece of prime rib on. Use onion slices to make a bed to place meat on top of.
Cook 350° for about 2 hrs or more, depending on the weight size of the prime rib.
Use a meat thermometer:
Rare: 120° - Med: 140° - Well: 160°
Note: Once you make a prime rib with this seasoning you will be told it is the best prime rib they ever tasted - I guarantee it! This recipe is outstanding. I make a shaker of this and keep it on the back of my stove and use it on all my steaks (also with soy sauce) an hour before cooking.

Aw, dude, I don't think she was talkin' 'bout prime rib (good recipe by the way!), I think she was askin' about baby-back ribs. If so, you can use the same recipe. You really need to marinate at least a few hours. I usually will slow cook 'em about three hours, then add more liquid (soy sauce, bbq sauce, or whatever) and out em in the fridge over night again, then next day throw em on the grill with some hickory. you can use mesquite, but i use it on bigger pieces (such as your prime rib) 'cause it has a stronger flavor than hickory. If you are makin baby back ribs for tonight, you're pretty much screwed, although you can try puttin em in the oven for about 2-3 hours on about 250-275. make sure you have plenty of liquid so they don't dry out...Good luck!!!

Go easy on yourself. Wash ribs. Put in lrg.roasting pan after salting & peppering. Cover with foil. Bake @ 350 for 45 mins. Take off foil, put a favorite store bought BBQ sauce over ribs after you have drained the fluid out of the pan. Return uncovered for about one half hout or until the ribs are becoming brown & the meat comes easily off the bone.

confident!! confident!! confident!! My mom's recipe has referred to as for pickling spice on a splendid rib and it relatively is palms down the terrific best rib you will ever have. you may upload the spices entire or grind them down and it works outstanding. the flavour is previous description. it may appear yucky inspite of the shown fact that it relatively is somewhat no longer. it is going to likely be the terrific best rib you will ever have!

ok secretkessa's recipe sounds great but if i may make a suggestion?? BOIL THE RIBS FIRST! that's what makes them tender and delicious!
the recipe from SK is for prime rib not ribs. you can use it for the flavouring but you really need to boil them first....takes about 20 minutes to boil then you can dress them before you bbq them or bake them....
good luck!

Just use Italian Salad Dressing. It works as a tenderizer.
