"The End is Near"
A priest and pastor from the local parishes are standing by the side of the road holding up a sign that reads, "The End is Near! Turn yourself around now before it's too late!" They planned to hold up the sign to each passing car.
"Leave us alone you religious nuts!" yelled the first driver as he sped by. From around the curve they heard screeching tires and a big splash.
"Do you think," said one clergy to the other, "we should just put up a sign that says 'Bridge Out' instead?"

You know I think it's goofy too. Now the Mayans (supposedly) are saying 2012, and it will specifically be the winter solstice Dec. 21st , 2012. Well the solstice is what makes me think it's a lot of hooey. To have it be the day of the winter solstice seems ridiculous December 28th, maybe June 5th maybe but the winter solstice, I don't think so.

nobody can predict the day the world is going to end, it's just ridiculous to think you can.
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

Jesus Christ Himself said that no man will know the hour or the day...not even himself but the Father only.

People want the world to end while they are around, so it will prove them right.
Besides, the world will end in 2012.

God has set a date for the end of the world.
And He isn't going to postpone it.
It could be tomorrow.
It could be 1,000 years from now.
You know what's funny, though? Suppose it is 1,000 years from now?
Do you think the date setters will stop setting dates? Do you think the people that might be alive then will simply say..."Gee, you're right, this is it!", or do you think they'll be talking about how people 1,000 years ago set these dates, and they were all wrong??
Then again...what if it IS tomorrow??????

If they carry on predicting dates they might one day get it right. Then they can say, I told you that was the right date!

They're just wackos. Who care about the why? Major denominations don't engage in this behavior.
