I have read the whole series. You will really enjoy the last one Glorious Appearing. I also could not put them down and waiting for the next in the series as I was reading was sometimes frustrating. I would like to see them make more movies of the series especially the Glorious Appearing. This book gave a lot of probable ways that things might come about and they made sense and were plausible. Enjoy and for goodness sake don't be Left Behind.

They are a set of good stories, but they are fiction. The 'Rapture' is not biblical and even though some have been led to Jesus through them, they are given the wrong impression that they can still do their own thing until the rapture, then ask forgiveness, live through the tribulation and be saved. This is a very dangerous belief and its a lie. Christ is only going to return once. You need to get off the fence and decide who you will serve. If you're putting off making that decision, you have already, in affect, chosen. You can't serve God and the world/yourself at the same time. Also, consider this. No one is promised their next breath. You could be just minutes away from Eternity.

Yes they are quite exciting, but read them with an open mind, because not everything in them is scriptural. Certain things are altered slightly to make it more " exciting". Just as you read, ask yourself the question : " What if Jesus doesn't come just before the tribulation ? And, do you really think if you miss the rapture, there is a "second" chance. That teaching is kind of dangerous, the idea we will have a second chance after Christ takes His Church away. Just be careful. Those books are quite good reading, but not all Bible based.

I really suspect that the only thing that has been left behind is the Original Kingdom Gospel. I don't think the Left Behind Pauline gospel is a good substitute for the real thing. Although I agree with you that the series is an interesting one.

the first 5 books in the series "came" to me at a time when i was really struggling. while i do not ascribe to the whole "rapture" they made me stop and think -- what if Christ came today -- where would I be.... they made me start searching and turn my life around. i'm actually listening to them now on CD as i drive to and from work and find myself driving around a little extra or not minding the traffic jams. BTW, there is a kids series that is just as good (while not as detailed) as the adult series.

I have and they're OK compared to Tim LaHaye's other fiction series "Babylon Rising".
Also, check out Joel Rosenberg's books, specially "The Ezekiel Option" found at: http://joelrosenberg.com/books.asp
Truly addictive!
Even Tim LaHaye is a fan of Joel.

no. The rapture is anti-Biblical and is leading many Christians astray. It was never taught by the apostles or the Church. The rapture was made up 200 years ago! Jesus Christ will return once more in glory and not secretly! God bless.
