It is not necessarily true. Using the computer for long lengths of time will cause your eyes (and the muscles that support them) to grow tired and may cause problems later (but may not). You need to make sure you take constant breaks (every two or three hours at least) and manage the brightness and resolution to the screen to a comfortable level.

Nevertheless, if you already have a defect in your sight it make make it worse. So as soon as you find yourself struggling to see the screen visit an optometrist (or even before!!). Keep in mind that all extremes are bad, so don't overuse the computer.

But, if you want a short answer to your question, it is not true. I have been working with computers for over 15 years for very long periods of time and my vision is 20/20.

I've been wearing glasses/contacts my whole life and my prescription didn't change much until I started using the computer. I work on the computer, I play on it, and I do online schooling. During my last appointment, my eye doctor told me that I had developed Astigmatism in one of my eyes. He told me that it was caused by too much time on the computer and focusing too much on one thing. It is treatable and I received special contacts for them. He did advice me that with lessened computer use and with the contacts, it should go away.

So the possibility is there for you to ultimately need some sort of corrective lenses with continued long-term use of the computer.

Unlikely. You might turn into a giant slug though.

If a teen, you should be outdoors and exercizing, with no more than 1-2 hours on the computer daily.

I don't think so, but the glare and extreme light that comes from the screen is bad for your eyes. go outside.
