My job allows me to telecommute full-time which has given me a certain degree of freedom with where I live. I'm interested in moving to France. Is it possible to live there if I already have a job that would allow me to telecommute? And by doing so, is it possible to become a French citizen after a certain amount of time?

Yes you can...you would need to speak French. It's a good idea if you can do so. Living in Europe is a great experience. I did it for 5 years. It also helps to understand how lucky we are to be Americans. France is a beautiful country, the people are very nice. Good Luck.

Post this question on the French site in French.
If you don't speak French, learn it.
Then apply for a Carte de Soujour and it may well be granted.

However, I know several people in your position. i.e. people with overseas incomes (including from US) who live in France.
