Will he be able to visit very often or not very much? And is it mostly on weekends?

never. he is not allowed to take leave while in school. YOU could go visit him, but he may not be allowed to spend overnights off base, and he could be required to be back on base by a certain time every night.

Mostly, there are maybe one or two weekend passes that soldier's get during AIT. Those aren't guaranteed either and are based on good behavior. Some of their weekend passes also do not allow the soldier to go off post. So, keep writing like you did in Basic Training. At least you get phone calls during AIT...

when i was it AIT we had to reach a certain phase before we could have weekend passes and wear civilian clothes. i hope you dont live too far away from each other because that hurts the wallet to travel long distances.

He isn't going to during the week and probably 1 1/2 days on the week end if you are lucky as some weekends are spent in the field ! He's in training!

Well it depends on what MOS he has. If its 11B, no. If its any MOS and he'll be in AIT during Christmas break, he'll come home for a week or so.

well it all depends on what his job is, where his AIT is at, and how long his AIT is for
