My last name is Smith as in John Smith of Pocahontas fame. I actually like a common last name. That way, people will have to like me for what I do rather than who I am.

I am one of the Funk family - as in Funk and Wagnall's dictionary -- it is not as wonderful as you might think. Back when "Laugh-In" was the big comedy smash on television [ask your parents - or grandparents?] people always thought it was soooo cute to say "put that in your Funk and Wagnall's" or else they would ask me to define and spell obscure words...and I was too refined to respond "u-p-y-o-u-r-s" or something equally rude. So I passed through high school date-less and practically friend-less because I was what is more recently termed a "brain-iac."

Later ended up with last name of "Wolfe" and frequently get asked if I am any relation to author Virginia Woolf. Wrong!

Perhaps it is understandable why I re-named myself after my favorite early 70's t.v. show, "Alias Smith and Jones"
