When God created Man, He said let us make man in OUR image...
In Corinthians it talks about other gods in Heaven and on Earth
Psalms 86 is a prayer by David...and in verse 8 he mentions other gods...
Now...here is the catch. There is only 1 God, the Father almighty, the creator of Heavens and the Earth, the one and only Living God....but even He talks to other gods...so why shouldn't believe in them?
In the bible it just says "I am the Lord, thy God" "Put no other gods before me" It doesn't say "I am the only god, others aren't real"....does it?
I was asked why don't I believe in gods from other religions, and I will know why atheists don't believe in God...
But the thing is, I do believe in Gods from other religions...do I believe they were the god of love, the god of war, the god of the sun and moon? No...not nescessarily, but I do believe there are other gods...
So who ever said Christians can't believe in multiple gods? We can believe, but we shouldn't worship.

Now... I don't think God or Christianity contradicts itself in anyway, I just think we need to go back to the original writings of the bible, by finding the earliest copies of each of the books...and then read them in their own language.
Too many years has the church and others interferred in the bible by re-writing and translating. I do not believe everythign in the bible is 100% true...because it was not given to me specifically by God, Himself.

If we believe as you say, we are not following the teachings of Jesus Christ and therefore we are not Christian. God is triune and is one God. Man also is made body spirit and soul in the image of God but none the less we are one man.

You wont hear any argument from me, my friend. Personally I don't give a tinker's toenail what another person believes, or doesn't believe. It is not my business. You can't tell another person the way his brain ought to work, any more than you can tell somebody else what the taste in his mouth ought to be, when he eats this or that.
When I go to the supermarket, I don't care what religious belief system the checkout lady subscribes to. I just want her to check my stuff, tell me how much I owe, give me the right change and let me be on my way. If I call a plumber to the house, I couldn't care less what church he attends, or what kind of "god" be believes in. For all I care, he can worship an old English upright rosewood piano with brass candleholders (with or without the candles). I just want him to fix my dadgam leak, give me the bill, and go on to his next job.
For the life of me I cannot comprehend why some people just have to get up in other people's faces and try telling them what they should or should not believe, and how they are doomed unless they change their thinking and come over that same belief system as whoever the person is trying to convert them. Seems to me they are thinking very poorly not to realise that when they do that they are attempting to rob that person they're trying to change, of the very thing they themselves would scream bloody murder over if someone tried to do the same to them.... the right of religious freedom... to think and believe as they feel they must.
Thankfully, in my neck o'th woods, people don't go around telling others what church they go to, or what religious belief system they espouse. They just go on about it and leave everybody else to do the same. If this were the way everybody acted, there might be a whole lot less religious conflict in this world.

Exactly. The god of the bible clearly says "I am YOUR god" to a very specific group of people.
"False gods" in one translation is "foreign gods" in another, and in both cases is Hebraic hubris and ethnocentrism in the face of overwhelmingly more powerful empires like Babylon and Persia . . . and all the snide little biblical ripostes about "graven images" reveal is how little a nomadic people understood about agrarian societies, lol---noboby worships the *idol* . . . the idol is a *symbol* . . . just like the crosses on some people's churches. :-)
I basically believe ALL godhs are real, to at least some extent, though rarely quite as advertised . . . but that they are the godhs of specific peoples, and integral to the souls of the cultures within which their worship first arose.

This is a significant fact that is rarely brought up, merely because the implications are far too confusing. If you can reconcile this with your faith, and embrace it, good for you. It still does not give you any indication as to whether this may just be a reference to false idols, rather than other gods, but, either way, it doesn't elaborate on a pantheon.

You bring up a lot of points that most Christians shy away from, GO YOU for having actually READ the bible. Now you do contradict yourself in parts of that post. The religion you might want to research is Wicca or Paganism. There is an ultimate belief in a Supreme God (as well as his feminine counterpart) with other Gods who lord over different things such as the elements, sun, moon and other aspects. Do some research, if anything you'll gain more knowledge.

no no no no no... you're all wrong... Elohim, said; let us make man in our image...Elohim came from Enlil; an ancient sumarian god. He was talking to the pantheon of Sumarian gods; who in turn were inherited by the egyptians, greeks, romans, jews, and yes, the 12 diciples of Yeshua and himself, who represent the 12 zodiac signs.. huh? sorry, the truth... The one and only truth and conclusion of all religions and gods.... is: "Love for all, is the key."
I have an update for all your books.. how about?: "hey wake up little kiddies...lets stop talking about flying pigs and walking spoons and put our feet on the ground. how about we take a look around us and see how we are twisting this world apart and how we are leaving it for the next generations. Love and tolerance of all is the key. War has been over for awhile now, it's just that some of us don't know it yet."
Jews/Muslims/Christians have all changed their book many times throughout the centuries to adjust and survive in changing economical, political, and social times. Like many other religions, including the Muslims, throughout the world and time. Everyone with a college education can begin to see that with just a little reading.
It is the traits & beliefs that you have inherited from past generations that has lead us to this global confused state of mind. The fog is clearing. If you take the world right now for example. There are 6 Billion people; can you imagine that, we'll try again 6 Billion. Maybe you can't grasp that concept, but we'll go on. There are 300 Million people in the U.S.. Now who thinks all the U.S. citizens are of one track-minded 50's life-style thinking? Not to many, we are all different and should be tolerant of each others life style's etc... Like it or not, there are mormons, white's, blacks, mexican's, catholics, jews, gays, short & tall people, fat and skinny, old & kids, hermits, partners, and polygamists; and there are good willed people and ill willed people in all catagories. We can't and should not; want to try to get rid of them all, lets live with each other, be tolerant, and mind our business.. hehehe...
It's not the christians or the muslims that will win this 3rd world war, and final war I might add. It is the human race who will save and protect freedom and this world..., or parish completely forever..., soon.

HOLY CRAP!! You actually payed attention to what is actualy in the Bible?! I am amazed! Truly I am! Wait, wait let me get your autograph!
Seriously though, you're the first Christian I have ever met that actually admitted thats what the bible says. It contradicts itself a lot, just look a little closer at it."God" talks about other gods as if they are real, but then the Bible goes on to say that there are no other gods. Thats a solid contradiction if I ever saw one.

"In Corinthians it talks about other gods in Heaven and on Earth." That's true, but it separates the true God from the false ones. At 1 Cor. 8:5, 6, it says: "For even though there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” 6Â there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him." So God the Father is the one God.
At John 17:3, Jesus called his Father the ONLY true God.
So, there is only one God, whose name is Jehovah. Ps. 83:18.

There is only one "Living God".....all the others are not living and have never been. There were made from gold, siver, stone, wood,,etc...not real. People from time to time put the name god on a person but he isn't God...Jim Jones,,look this up if you don't know who he was...his followers thought he was God...there will always be false gods....there is one in Florida right now who his followers claim is god.....but there is only One Living God.....

Over and over teh Bible contradicts inself. It is only a book and NOT meant to be taken literally...word for word.
The reason for the one God thing is because that ONE GOD...is a very jealous God and many many wars have been fought over that very fact and not just here on Earth.
