I'm a senior in high school and my girlfriend is a junior and her mom just accepted a job at McDonalds. I'm extremely embarrassed because I eat at McDonalds and I don't want my friends to see her and say to me "Haha your stupid girlfriends mom works at mcdonalds".

If you bow that easily to peer pressure, and you're embarassed that a woman is willing to work to feed and clothe the girl you claim to care about, then you don't deserve to have a girlfriend.
Either man up and stand by your girlfriend and her family, or wimp out and set her free to find a guy who will.

Wow you're a jerk, and your friends are also jerks. That's really mean to discriminate someone because of where they work. These days it's hard for people to get a job, especially single mothers, immigrants and people who haven't finished high school or a post secondary education. Unless you and your bratty friends haven't heard there are wars in the world, it's hard for people who come from a country that had to deal with war to find a job especially if they aren't used to the language and here have to make it as a McDonalds employee when in their homeland country they could of been a doctor or a lawyer. Maybe that's not the case with your gilfriends mother but either way she's making money because she has to pay the bills. And you being an bigot, snobby little boy to find such a reason to break up with your girlfriend disgusts me. You're clearly a follower and have no balls if you care so much about what your hair gel, i pod junkie, jocks of 'friends' care about your own personal matter. If it bothers you so much why doesn't your fat *** chose a different McDonalds resturant to eat at? If you have such classy and great parents they shouldn't allow you to eat there anyways. I would never break up with someone because of such a stupid reason, but then again I'm a great person and I can't say much about you. However if I was your girlfriend I would learn what kind of a loser you really are and break up with YOU and find a REAL boyfriend.
Hope that helped! =]

You're pitiful!!! I hope she dumps you first. What's wrong with McDonald's?? Some people do what they have to do to get along in life. I know some of the managers that work at a McDonald's and they make EXCELLENT MONEY AND BENEFITS!! Do you have any type of job, or do you sponge off of your parents? I feel that someone should never be judged by their jobs. At least she is working!! If you're so embarrased by this situation, stay away from McDonald's!! You really need to grow up and realize that someone has to work there to make the food that you eat and serve it to you!!!!!!!!!! You sound like a spoiled little brat!! I hope your girlfriend sees the real you before it's too late!

Just go (with your friends) to a different McDonalds. At least she has a job, and how many times were you planning on making out with your girlfriend at McDonalds, anyway? =P

Seriously. If you care more about what your friends think than about a particular girl, then you're not mature enough for a relationship. Save both of you the heartache, and date someone else.

You should not be ashamed of her mother. McDonalds is a good place to work. They actually pay good wages now days. You aught to take your friends there and say: My girl friends mom works at this McDonalds and I think that is cool!
I don't think they will make fun of you or her. Try It! But don't break up with a girlfriend because of this, because that would be stupid!

Thats a very snobish thing to say. Not everyone is able to work in a lush corner office with a view. When you are an adult you do what you have to, to provide for your family. Even if that means taking any job that is avail. If you and/or your friends are that shallow then your g/f deserves better. Also, if my friends called my girlfriend/boyfriend stupid..they wouldnt be much of a friend anyways.

Of course not, she doesn't deserve that. If you really liked her you wouldn't be ashamed that her mom works at McDonalds. It's her mom, it's not yours. If anyone should be embarrassed it should be her. Don't worry about what your friends say, they would be just joshing around. Plus you shouldn't care what they think. It's your life and your not the one telling her to work there. Just don't break up with her just cause he mom works at McDonalds...

No ofense, you're an idiot.
You should be embarassed if your girlfriend's mom is a
drug adict who does nothing but stay at home, gets high
on stuff, and sits infront of the tv eating chips.

What if one day, your opportunities come to a close and you
end up working at McDonalds? would you like your daughter's
idiotic boyfriend to break up with her because you have an
HONEST job that you use to raise her? I think not.

If there were people this shallow, I didn't wanna know about it. Man, who cares where your girlfriend's mom works? You're not dating her mom, you're dating your girlfriend. You're basically saying her mom's job is a reflection on your girlfriend's character, so you should dump her, AND that YOUR own character is flaky enough to care what your friends think about your girlfriend's mom's job. I personally wouldn't be friends with anyone who called my girlfriend "stupid" or criticized her mom. But then again, they're friends with YOU, so it makes sense.

Sure, go ahead and dump her. You're obviously not the upstanding, sensitive, unconditionally loving and understanding guy this girl deserves.

Not at all, what does her mother working at McDonalds have anything to do with your relationship with her daughter? At least she has a job! Would you want someone to dump you because of where your mom/dad worked?
