When I am feeling blue or sad and depressed what I try and do is think of others who have things a lot worse off then me. This helps to open the old eyes and see that things could always be worse and hopefully be more grateful for what I have in my live.

Sometimes the normal distractions like TV or internet just don't cut it for me. It sounds trite, but I go out for a walk. I live near a park and if I'm feeling like I can't shake sadness I'll go outside, take a deep breath and notice something outside of myself - trees, birds, the lake. Instant prozac....

well different people do different things depending on there personalty.
some find things to distract them from the sad reality
