ok i want mature answers here no homophobic crap.
right if your sexuality detemines whether you are ahem 'holy' or a 'sinner' then why does the bible say that you shouldn't judge?? if god was to judge in the end then why do some (not all) christians judge others, quotes bibles and act like they are god??

i don't want 'opinions' i want a good definition of how you will answer this even if you sit on the fence. i want an educated, intelligent well thought of answer even if i don't agree with you i will chose you as best answer because this isn't about my actual opinion.

i want somebody to disagree with the bible or agree with it but with a well backed up answer and really good points.

if you write me a long essay that doesn't mean to say i will give you best answer.

like i said even if it goes against MY opinion if it is well backed up i will give you best answer and feedback (with my opinion)

good luck!

we religious folk are very good at saying who isn't allowed into heaven with us,if you scan the history of the church in Britain alone it reeks of it.
I like to let God be the one to do decide who is worthy and who isn't.Over zealous religious people kick gays because they are an easy target,it gets very unpleasant sometimes when these ratbags who claim to know Jesus Christ behave in such a way.
I am very glad that a number of the churches have ceased to use aggressive/confrontational language on this matter and the time is nigh for religious people to remember the compassion shown by Christ to all around him.
Ultimately God is the one who lets people into heaven and we can rant all we like.I think when the time comes for the sheep to be seperated from the goats there will be a fair few surprises and a fair few hate-mongers exposed for what they really are.
Deciding if my neighbour is a filthy heathen is not for me,it is enough of a challenge for me to stay true to the principles of the gospel. There are considerable beams in my own eye,the speck in my neighbours eye is between him and the almighty.
All of us,every single last one of us,is a sinner and falls short of what God requires. One is perfectly entitled to ones own view but to bang on about it at the expense of gay people, human beings with FEELINGS,has nothing to do with the love of God whatsoever.
We should spend more time demonstrating the gospel in action and less time spitting out bile about our fellow creatures of God.

You are right us Christians should not judge, but we tend too it's in our nature (all of us not just Christians). We fallow the bible and it states that homosexuality is a sin, sex before marriage should be forbidden. We are suppose to preach about the word of God. However, people take advantage of it. Like you said above not all Christians do that. The problem is Christians who act like they are the higher power usually is a cult. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-23 to sum up the scripture it basically means "We cannot be Gods" I can see why you think they act like God because they really do. We should be prophets helping others, and not to do it forcefully. Seriously do you think Jesus was forceful? nope he was gentle. But the best thing is Jesus loves us no matter what. He hates the Sin but never the sinner. I have gay friends I know it is a sin, but it is not my place to say they are going to go to hell for it. That is Gods choice. It is between that person and God. Also being gay doesn't really mean it is a Sin. It is how we act on it. If a gay man worships God and chooses not to marry anyone, but adopt he is not a sinner for being Gay. Like I said it is how we act on the temptation and sin. We all sin it all started when Eve ate the apple. We are not perfect, and I know God is forgiving. Judgment day we all will be judged, and it is the only time to redeem our selves. We are being judgmental as we speak. They are in a cult so be careful. Actually the majority of the people are smart and walk a way. The problem is they are the ones who turn people away from Christianity.

Your sexuality doesn't determine whether you are holy or a sinner. I'm not exactly where you got the idea that it does, but I've never read one of your questions before.

Are you under the impression that Christians believe that homosexuals are sinners and heterosexuals are holy? Because if somebody has given you that impression, they are completely wrong.

In the first place, everybody's a sinner. It says that in the Bible (Romans), but it's also just plain obvious by looking at every person you've ever met. Nobody's perfect. It's impossible. We're all selfish, lazy, stubborn, angry over nothing, cowardly, dishonest or whatever by turns.

Holiness is a pursuit. Holiness is the act of learning to set aside whatever natural inclinations you have to sin (by being selfish, lazy, stubborn, angry over nothing, cowardly, dishonest or whatever) and instead rise up to the challenge and do the right thing (by being generous, industrious, tolerant, brave, honest or whatever). Which, as I'm sure you've noticed, are all traits we have in us already, for the most part. Which means holiness is about cultivating what is good in us so that becomes more of a habit than our natural inclination to sin.

All this adds up to the FACT that homosexual people can be holy and heterosexual people can be holy. It's not denied based on sexuality and it's not determined based on sexuality.

The Bible says we shouldn't set ourselves up as judges over other people, that's true. But the Bible also teaches us how to judge our own behavior and the choices before us so that we can know if some action or situation is going to lead us into the temptation to sin or help us rise to the challenge of holiness. It's not like we should NEVER pass ANY judgments at all -- we have to be able to evaluate what we're about to do...as well as what we've done so we can go to God and confess when we've sinned.

Why do some Christians judge others? Because they're sinners and they don't get that they're being offensive. Why do they quote the Bible? Usually because they think it's a good way to figure out a good way to live. Why do they act like they are God? It's called the Sin of Adam or Original Sin or whatever you want to call it -- people want to be in charge. They want to call the shots. It's a hard thing to let go of. You probably want to call your own shots, too, right? You probably wouldn't mind having the ability to tell people what's right and wrong so they wouldn't bother you so much, right? We all do it. We're all in the same boat.

Hi!

God completed creation and saw that it was good. The first humans were given responsibilities towards the world, but went against the grain and allowed bad stuff in. Despite all Gods efforts to inspire humans through the prophets, when it came to writing things down people always put their own slant and prejudices into the written word.

In the rest of creation, which minus mankind is still good, variations in sexuality across and within species is far from unusual, ergo any bias on the grounds of sexuality in scripture is a human bias and has no essence of the divine. The divine condemns harmful behaviour. Some humans create a red-herring with sexuality that stops them addressing the real issues such as sexual abuse.

Good wishes.

Hi Sparks! I'm afraid that Ur asking a Q. with a "Wrong Conception" of "Gays" & their "Sin" of "Homosexuality" in regards to "Righteousness". Scripture (as by now I'm sure U know) has recorded in it, "Gods' Stance" on "Homosexuality", Obviously Not Mans!!! Now, Scripture also has Many Other Positions of God, regarding ALL Sin!!! In fact, Sin is Sin to God & the Only "Unforgivable Sin" is Not Accepting Christ. So when a person Accepts Christ, they become "Righteous" (Holy if U will) but NOT Perfect!!! If the Christian (and they will) continues to Sin, they lose that "Righteousness" and must Confess their Sins DIRECTLY TO GOD, No One Else (Padres, Nuns etc.)!!! Ok, now, the "Judgment" of People is to be "Human" as in this Q. U ask, as U are going to "Judge" Us All, based on our Answers Right??? Let Us say for the sake of "Argument" that U are a "Professor of English" and have "Established Criterion" for "Judging Answers", K??? The "Standards" U have may be "Good or Bad", but they are Ur "Frame of Reference", K??? So too it is with the "Christian". We have the "Bible" which we Believe is the "Inerrant Word of God" and we use it for Our "Frame of Reference", K??? Now, this is the "Reason" U will get the "Answers" or "Attitude" that U Will get from Christians who Believe in Scripture! It IS NOT RIGHT to "Thump" "Gays" or ANYONE ELSE with the "Word", but "Remember" We were "Human" before we were "Saved"! This means, that Many of Us have had the Very Same Sins (still do?) as those who are "Not Believers" and so through "Our Experiences" we Truly Believe & Know, that Our & Ur Sins, are "Harmful" to Us All!!! Are U still with me here??? Now, when we Accept Christ, we are made a "New Creature" with "New Norms & Standards" and a "Genuine Concern" (love) for Our "Brother" and do not want them to Physically or Spiritually Suffer!!! Scripture wants Us to spread the "Good News / Gospel" to the "Uttermost parts of the World" and we Believe this & Obey. I hope this gets it for U??? OBTW, I personally don't go to places where I'm not wanted, K??? So can U tell me why so many "Gays & A's" come here Especially when they "Profess" that We "Pick on Them" so much??? I Just don't get it, as they do have their own "Board Section" here on Y/A??? John

You are right it does say not to judge others. It also says that we should not let wolves lead His sheep astray. For example, by someone condoning sex before marriage and telling other people that it is alright, that is trying to lead others away from the true meaning of what God wants us to do. The same as if someone was choosing to be Gay and do Gay acts. If someone slips and sins- we can still love the sinner and not the sin. Some people are prone to a 'Holy-er than thou attitude'. Which we ALL sin and fall short of the will of God. God Bless.

Oh I have always thought this. I am far from a believer in god for these reasons.

The bible contradicts itself so many times.

I have no problem with queer people. And god was the one that said you shouldn't judge people and you should except people and la-di-da. But he is saying that no one should be queer?

I think its full of crap. If people can except others for being queer then surely the person who *we* all worship can too..?

I know i'm right. I don't need best answer to tell me that :]

The Bible says different things about judging in different situations. It says for instance that it's okay for one Christian to judge another and explain to the person why he/she is wrong (using Scripture as the backup for the explanation). But you must do it in a loving manner.

In other instances, we are not to judge, because we are doing the same things.

In other instances, we will be judged by God in the same way that we judge others. In other words, if I'm really harsh and mean and unfair in my judgment of you, I will be judged harshly, meanly and unfairly by God.

I do not agree that being homosexual is a sin. But many of those who tell us that do it out of ignorance. By ignorance, I mean they don't know any better, I do not mean they are dumb. They think they are going to help us by pointing out our sins. The problem with that is that so many of them get so caught up in it, that they become really judgmental and hateful. Which goes against the way they are supposed to be acting and approaching us. Also, they use their beliefs to pass laws against us. At that point when you pass laws against others, it becomes bigotry which goes against Christ's commandment to treat others as we want to be treated.

As a Christian, I will point out to anti-gay Christians why I think homophobia is sinful if they make anti-gay comments. I try to do it in a factual, but kind manner so that God will not judge me in a harsh manner.

The final judge of all of us is God and I keep that in mind. We should all judge as little as possible, but if we do it, we better be very careful how we do it. God is listening.

I believe the standard response here is to "love the sinner, but hate the sin." Frankly, I think that's a load of malarkey. You can't hate a sin without judging those whom you perceive to be guilty of that sin. The most important directive given by Jesus in the Bible is that we are to love one another. We are to treat others as we would have them treat us. In my view, that includes respecting other people for who they are (including their sexuality) and respecting their choices, even if we disagree with those choices.

It is not so much sexuality but when it is sin. The Bible states that it is unnatural for man to lie with man or woman to lie with woman. We as Christians are not to judge. People don't understand that to discern what is sin is a requirement for all Christians. We are to remove the log from our own eyes first and then help our brothers and sisters in Christ. Yes some of us go beyond and try to save the lost and get them to understand the love of Christ. Knowing that Jesus died for their sins and ours and to help them to put away sin in their life with the help of the Holy Spirit after they have asked Jesus into their lives.
