I was hurt emotionally by someone who has the same race as I do. now whenever i saw someone with the same ethnicity, i am scared and I turn them down.

I know I might be making a mistake. i might let love slip away, but i just dont want to go over any dramatic drama again. and i cant seem to get over it.

Getting into a relationship is all about taking those risks.
Eventually you're going to have to let the past go and move on.
But every minute of every day you waste dwelling on the past in another minute you can never get back to spend it with someone that truely wants to be with you.

If I were you, I would just live life, and just try to find love again.

It's not a matter of ethnicity. You're probably afraid of entering into a relationship with the same type of person who hurt you and you're seeing similarities in all members of that particular race. It's like never dating blondes after being hurt by a blonde, but you can't judge a book by it's cover. Get to know someone, judge them by their personality not their packaging. Good luck!

Just lay low for a while. It will come back to you. Make friends first. Tell people that you are single(if you want), but you're not looking for anyone right now. If you have to, tell them you're just uncomfortable in a relationship.

I think another ethnicity is fine, if that's what you have a current eye for. There is nothing wrong with interracial, interreligious or homosexual dating, in my opinion. Love is blind.

Just close your eyes and see if you're still not interested. Maybe it's just the new you.

You can get over it, and you will. All you have to do is relax and let time heal your heart.

For now, just keep making note of when you do have these irrational thoughts about people of that race. Again, time heals wounds.

Don't let yourself become the kind of person you don't want to be.

i was deeply hurt 5 yrs ago and have had, and am still having a hard time FEELING again. however, i have to stop wasting time over what "could have been" and live in the present.

we can't punish the innocent for someone else's error, or even our own...for allowing ourselves to be hurt.
