Nowhere in there did it mention dates or times. All "prophecies" are broad enough that when you look back in history you find the event that occured and then say that it was predicted.

True prophecies have dates associated with them. Otherwise they are just broad guesses. Nostradamus never put dates to any of his guesses. Whoever told you the 1999 crap was lying or misinformed.

Every single year someone has predicted the end of the world. Eventually someone will be correct but that doesn't make them a prophet it just makes them a victim of statistics.

On the Mayan calendar it is "The end of the Age of Man." Not the end of the world or even the end of humankind. Just the end of the age of man. That could mean women gain more power or that we build our first functioning independant cyborg or it could mean they did a whole lot of peyote.

You've got a couple of errors.
The biggest one is that "they Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012." That is simply not true. That is the first day of the 13th Baktun, not the END of anything.
The 11:11 a.m. time is simply the solstice. There is a solstice every six months. It is no big deal.
Nostradamus said the world would END in July 1999 (when the sun was in Cancer)...fire was supposed to rain from the sky...it didn't. 13 years is a long time to be off by, plus the sun isn't in Cancer in December. It's entering Capricorn.

As a catholic I believe that Jesus is going to return, but nobody knows the time. There are signs like the things that happen with Israel, they became one nation again and they are thinking about rebuilding their temple, they have to rebuild their temple before the world ends and also the gospel must be heard everywhere and is almost everywhere, even Mel Gibson made a movie and helped the gospel to spread more in the world. There is also so many sins in the world many people dont even care about the ten comandments. But some people will be saved, the ones who follow Jesus. Just like God saved some people in the time of Noah and saved Lot from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

I hope not, but in my religion (Islam) a lot of our signs have come true too. Time passes by faster, it's hot in winter (global warming?!), when leaders and orators lie openly (psh true) there's a whole lot more on the site below and that fact that the Mayan calendar is about to end and the signs I just read from the Indian prophecy is pretty disturbing...

The End is Near

A priest and pastor from the local parishes are standing by the side of the road holding up a sign that reads, "The End is Near! Turn yourself around now before it's too late!" They planned to hold up the sign to each passing car.
"Leave us alone you religious nuts!" yelled the first driver as he sped by. From around the curve they heard screeching tires and a big splash.

"Do you think," said one clergy to the other, "we should just put up a sign that says 'Bridge Out' instead?"

Probably. I remember when my grandmother was in the hospital someone on TV asked if he should travel to a certain "holy" place come January 1st 2000. The religious person who answered explained that would be foolish. They instead should be there on January 1st, 2001. I laughed when I heard that.
